The transfer window is beginning to shape up all over Europe’s top leagues. Some stars are calling new places home, while others are still figuring out their futures. Where will some of these players end up?

The European Transfer window is open for business. Much like the wild free agency period the NBA experienced, there have already been some big moves across the top five leagues. Let’s take a look at some players who have already switched jerseys, and who may still be on the move.

Will Neymar get his way out of PSG?

Wow, how Neymar has fallen off since joining PSG in 2017. Multiple injuries, off the pitch issues, and failure to propel the Parisians to new heights. Now the drama sees him wanting out of Paris, with suitors like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester United all looking to add him.

However, the situation is a bit more complicated than that. The original transfer fee of Neymar that saw him land in France was a record-breaker. A deal that would literally break the bank. How much you ask? He’s owed 30 million euros over the duration of his contract, and his release clause was valued at 222 million euros. Yikes.

While it remains highly unlikely he reunites with Lionel Messi and Barcelona, it will be interesting to see if the Brazilian star can be moved anywhere that is willing to pay. Stay tuned for this one.

Man United pushing to keep Pogba and Lukaku

Despite being included on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pre-season roster, the future of Paul Pogba remains a big mystery. Unfortunately, Romelu Lukaku also seems to be heading out. The team most linked with a possible move for Pogba has been Real Madrid. Manager Zinedine Zidane has had the French star on his radar since his days at Juventus. Meanwhile, Solskjaer wants to challenge Pogba at Man U this season, but it is looking like Pogba will get his transfer sooner rather than later.

As for Lukaku, the rumor circling around is that Inter Milan are heavily interested in the Belgian star. While both are stars in their own regard, it is widely agreed upon that both have been mismanaged and the failure of producing results sees them wanting out. If United missed Sir Alex Ferguson when he retired in 2013, fans must certainly miss him now. This is another situation to monitor closely.

Buffon to return for farewell season at Juve

A break from the drama would be nice, eh? Here’s a tear-jerker for soccer fans. Gianluigi Buffon announced he would return to Italian giants Juventus for one more year. And he’s gone the gentleman route, allowing first-team goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to retain the number one shirt, and be his back up. If there is one thing remaining on the legendary keeper’s resume to check off, it’s the trophy that has eluded him his entire career. The Champions League.

It will be fun seeing Gigi back where he belongs. Hopefully, Cristiano Ronaldo and company can send of Buffon in style before he finally hangs up his boots. It has certainly been a pleasure watching your greatness for so long, Gigi. So in typical Italian fashion, Forza Gigi!

Griezmann heads to the Camp Nou

Longtime Atletico Madrid star Antione Griezmann finally got his move to Barcelona. The 120 million euro move sees Griezmann pair up with Messi, Luis Suarez, and company at the Camp Nou. However, it hasn’t been without its fair share of drama.

Atletico claim that the release clause triggered was a low ball offer. In fact, Atleti say Griezmann’s release clause is worth at least 200 million euros. Whatever the case may be, the French World Cup winner is now in Catalonia and seems to be enjoying life at Barca so far.

While the market has settled for now, here a few other moves that happened this summer.

Eden Hazard from Chelsea to Real Madrid for 115 million euros

Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea for 60 million euros

Frenkie De Jong from Ajax to Barcelona for 75 million euros

Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid to Bayern Munich for 80 million euros

As the market continues to press forward, be sure to stay tuned for more updates. Because here at NGSC Sports, we never stop.

Until next time, futbol fans.
