Burnes was lights out facing the Indians as he struck out 14 batters and issued just one walk on 115 pitches in eight innings before coming out for Hader.
Burnes is a favorite for the National League Cy Young award and lowered his ERA to 2.25 with this historic outing.
Hader has been brilliant for the Brewers this season, owning a 1.42 ERA in 50 2/3 innings pitched (50 games) with 31 saves, 86 strikeouts, 19 walks issued, three home runs surrendered, a 0.80 WHIP, 1.78 FIP, and 299 ERA+.
The last time the Brewers had a no-hitter was left-handed pitcher Juan Nieves against the Baltimore Orioles on April 15, 1987.
This was the ninth no-hitter of the 2021 season, eclipsing the eight in 1884 to set a new all-time record.

The Indians are the first team in MLB history to be on the losing end of three no-hitters in the same season.
Burnes had his signature moment of the 2021 season with the combined no-hitter, and it might propel him to win the NL Cy Young award.
New York Yankees Reliever Zack Britton Out for 2022 Season After Undergoing Elbow Surgery
New York Yankees reliever Zack Britton will be sidelined until the end of the 2022 season as he underwent elbow surgery, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
Zack Britton had a UCL reconstruction and repair (Tommy John surgery), in addition to a bone chip removal. That puts him out at least until the end of the 2022 season.

Britton had the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his pitching elbow reconstructed and repaired, including removing a bone chip.
Britton had not appeared in a game since Aug. 19, when he yielded two hits, and one earned run against the Minnesota Twins.
The Yankees had shortly placed him on the injured list with a left elbow sprain before transferring him to the 60-day injured list.
Britton has not pitched well this season, as indicated by a 5.89 ERA in 18 1/3 innings pitched with 16 strikeouts, 14 walks issued, two home runs allowed, a 1.69 WHIP, and 5.45 FIP.

MAX SCHERZER
3,000 career strikeouts. 19th pitcher in MLB history to get there
He got there in his 404th career game, the 2nd-fewest games to 3,000 strikeouts, behind only Randy Johnson (362). 2nd-fastest by IP behind Johnson, too

Scherzer has issued 674 walks in his career, which is the fewest of any member in the 3,000-strikeout club, per Tyler Kepner of the New York Times.

The right-hander has been phenomenal for the Dodgers since they acquired him from the Washington Nationals before the trade deadline.
Scherzer has a 1.05 ERA in 43 innings pitched (seven starts) with 63 strikeouts, five walks surrendered, two home runs yielded, a 0.76 WHIP, and a 1.33 FIP.
