The WPIAL is well known for producing many of the greatest players in the history of football, including George Blanda, Mike Ditka, Aaron Donald, Tony Dorsett, Bill Fralic, Ty Law, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Joe Namath, and Darrell Revis among the most legendary.

Week Two: Aliquippa Quips (0-0) vs Mars Planets (0-1)
Last season, the Aliquippa Quips looked dead in the water after a late season defeat to Montour at home.
However, like Michael Myers, they returned from the grave and carved up every opponent afterwards, including McKeesport in the WPIAL Class 4A Championship Game.
The now 21-time WPIAL Champions have dropped back into WPIAL Class 3A, where they share a conference with Ambridge, Hopewell, Beaver, Ellwood City, and OLSH.
Handsome Lynn, a junior, will take over as quarterback. Lynn will have a bevy of weapons to utilize at his disposal, including Akiva Woods, Cameron Cannon, Avery Coleman, and Anthony Ingram.
Aliquippa was off for Week 1, and will open the season at home against the Mars Planets, who were defeated by Seneca Valley 27-14 in their first game.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM at The Pit at Heinz Field.
