It is becoming the norm in college athletics for title sponsors to play a role in a postseason event. The America East Conference has become the latest league to join in on that idea. For the first time ever, the America East baseball tournament, which is scheduled for May 21-24 in Maine at Mahaney Diamond, will have a title sponsor. Northeast Delta Dental will be the league’s first-ever title sponsor for this tournament.
The announcement came on April 10 from Commissioner Brad Walker. As part of the title partnership, Northeast Delta Dental will be active in name, image, and likeness campaigns with student-athletes in America East. During May, the student athletes will talk about their own mental health journeys during Mental Health Awareness Month. This campaign will be promoted on social media and at the conference tournament. The Track & Field Championships will be held at the University of New Hampshire on May 3-4.
During the baseball tournament at the University of Maine, Northeast Delta Dental and the league will take the time to highlight first responders, service members, emergency workers, and others from the local area. This is all part of Northeast Delta Dental’s commitment to community involvement.
Commissioner Walker expressed his excitement over this deal, and he believes this innovative and forward-thinking partnership will provide NIL opportunities for the league’s student-athletes. Walker is hoping this is the start of more partnerships that can benefit the league’s student athletes.. America East multimedia rights partner Van Wagner also had a hand in negotiating this deal.
