With the 2025 NBA All-Star Game mini-tournament just under a month away, the time for fan voting is nearing its end. Although the final fan vote returns were released on Thursday, fan voting does not end until January 20th.
The 2025 All-Star Game fan vote returns did not see any significant changes from the first and second returns. Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo would see the most votes by any player, with over 3.48 million votes. The second and third highest vote-getters would be Nikola Jokic and Jayson Tatum with 2.92 million and 2.84 million votes. Respectively.
If the voting ended today, the Eastern Conference starters would be:
- Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL, 3.84 million votes)
- Jayson Tatum (BOS, 2.84 million votes)
- Karl-Anthony Towns, 2.45 million votes)
- LaMelo Ball, (CHA, 1.9 million votes)
- Donovan Mitchell, 1.55 million votes)
In the Western Conference, the starters would be:
- Nikola Jokic (DEN, 2.92 million votes)
- LeBron James (LAL, 2.59 million votes)
- Kevin Durant PHX, 2.49 million votes)
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC, 2.4 million votes)
- Stephen Curry (GSW, 1.79 million votes)
While many of the starters are already set in stone, there are a few spots that could still be up for grabs in the final days of voting. Of the frontcourts and backcourts for each conference, the Eastern Conference frontcourt is the group of players that are set in stone as starters with just over 1.4 million votes between the third and fourth-highest vote-getters.
In the West frontcourt, San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama currently sits at 2.2 million votes, just under 300,000 votes behind Kevin Durant in third place. In the West backcourt, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic sits 115,000 votes behind Stephen Curry for second place amongst guards.
In the East backcourt, there is a chance a significant change is seen in the last few days of voting. While LaMelo Ball is likely to stay as the highest vote-getter amongst East guards, there is always the risk that the media and other players who share the remaining 50% of the vote could penalize Ball Charlotte’s lack of success so far this season, sitting at 9-28. Donovan Mitchell’s spot could be at risk as well, despite the success the Cleveland Cavaliers are seeing this season. Sitting at 1.55 million votes, Milwaukee’s Damian Lillard and New York’s Jalen Brunson are close behind at 1.27 million votes and 1.24 million votes, respectively.
The starters will be announced on January 23rd, with the league’s 30 coaches voting for the reserves ahead of the January 30th announcement.
