Who is Chandler Jones

Chandler Jones is a defensive end for the Las Vegas Raiders. In his 10-year football career, he has accumulated several awards and achievements, such as attending the NFL Pro Bowl four times and being an All-Pro twice. In 2022, after five years with the Arizona Cardinals, Chandler signed a three-year deal with the Raiders. Raider fans were ecstatic about this move because fellow pro bowler Maxx Crosby finally had a reliable counterpart to attack the opposite edge. However, Jones’ first season with the Raiders did not meet expectations. Jones recorded only 4.5 sacks in his first season with the Raiders, his lowest sack total ever since the 2020 season when he only played five games. Raider fans are looking for a bounce-back season in 2023 from Jones, but drama within the organization would prevent it.

The Gym Incident

On September 5th, 2023, an upset Jones took to Instagram about how the Raiders locked him out of their gym. One of the flurry of text messages that were screenshot read, “It’s a shame that I am a top athlete with 112 sacks in the NFL, and I have to go to the local gym to workout during the season for no apparent reason this is wild to me Josh, and you know it you need to do what’s right.” “Josh” is a reference to Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels. These messages were sent to McDaniels and Raiders General Manager David Ziegler. McDaniels was asked about the Jones situation during training camp and practice but declined to speak.

False Accusations of Mark Davis

On September 16th, Jones composed a flurry of tweets accusing Raiders owner Mark Davis of holding a big secret. The big secret would send an enormous uproar in the football community. Jones tweeted several times that his god-daughter was molested, and once he found out about the case, he was not let back in the Raider facility. This was a shocking statement to say, and many fans could not believe it. However, this disturbing case turned out to be a hoax. On September 18th, Jones apologized for the tweets and said he was “hacked” on Twitter.

CTE Assumptions

Many football fanatics believe that Jones is suffering from the infamous CTE, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which is a brain disorder resulting from numerous blows to the head. As of now, over 345 deceased NFL players have been diagnosed with CTE. Many of the symptoms include impulsive control problems, aggressiveness, and confusion. It may be possible that CTE is causing Jones to erupt over the issues with the Raiders. The NFL season is two weeks in, and Jones has yet to suit up for the Raiders.
