The last week in MLB was about an outfielder in the American League who has a torn ligament in their toe, a starting pitcher will have their next start pushed back a couple of days due to back tightness, and a team had a historic win.
New York Yankees Outfielder Aaron Judge Suffered Torn Ligament in Toe
New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge mentioned a couple of days ago that he suffered a torn ligament in his right big toe, per Chris Kirschner of The Athletic.
For the first time, Aaron Judge told reporters he tore a ligament in his toe. Previously, the team just said it was a sprain. Judge also said he still has pain while he walks.

Judge also added that he is dealing with pain in his toe when he walks.
The Yankees had initially said Judge was dealing with a ligament sprain.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said he expects Judge to return this season, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
Aaron Boone said he expects Aaron Judge to return this season but stopped short of guaranteeing it. “That’s an absolute. I can’t say that about anyone.”

Judge, who won the American League MVP last season, has not played since June 3 after he injured his toe crashing into the wall while making a catch against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Judge was off to a terrific start before the injury occurred.
He posted a .291 batting average and 1.078 OPS in 49 games with 42 runs scored, 51 hits, 10 doubles, 19 home runs, 40 RBIs, three stolen bases, and 194 OPS+.
The Yankees have missed his presence in their lineup, as they have a 6-10 record and rank 30th in MLB in runs scored since the injury.
Tampa Bay Rays Starting Pitcher Shane McClanahan Will Have Next Start Pushed Back
Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Shane McClanahan will have his next start pushed back a couple of days after leaving his last start against the Kansas City Royals with mid-back tightness.

Rays’ manager Kevin Cash mentioned this was a precautionary move.
McClanahan has been one of the best starting pitchers in the AL this season, and pushing back his next start by a couple of days is logical.
The left-handed pitcher leads the AL in wins and ERA at 11 and 2.23, respectively.
He has thrown 93 innings with 100 strikeouts, 35 walks issued, 10 home runs allowed, a 182 ERA+, 3.65 FIP, and 1.11 WHIP.
McClanahan is the ace of their rotation, and the extra rest should allow his back to heal before his next scheduled start.
Los Angeles Angels Score 25 Runs in Historic Victory Over Colorado Rockies
During Saturday’s game between the Los Angeles Angels and Colorado Rockies, something was in the air.
The Angels demolished the pitching from the Rockies by scoring 23 runs in the first four innings at Coors Field, and they ended up with a historic 25-1 win.
The 24-run margin of victory is tied for the third-largest in the modern era (since 1901) and the biggest ever in an interleague game, per Stathead.
The Angels scored just two runs in the second inning against Rockies’ pitcher Chase Anderson but kicked things into overdrive during the third inning.
The first three pitches by Anderson in that inning were sent over the wall by Mike Trout, Brandon Drury, and Matt Thaiss for back-to-back-to-back home runs.

They tacked on another eight runs in the fourth inning and were up 23-0 when the fourth inning was over.

the Angels’ 21 runs in the 3rd + 4th innings are tied for the most in a 2-inning span in a game in MLB history, with:
6/6/1894 Pirates, also in the 3rd + 4th
only other team with even a 20-run such span: 6/26/1890 Philadelphia Quakers, in 6th + 7th

The 23 runs scored by the Angels were the most scored through the first four innings of a game by any team in the last 50 years and two shy of the overall record that has stood since 1922, per Sarah Langs of MLB.com.
the Angels’ 23 runs thru 4 innings are the 3rd-most thru the 1st 4 innings of a game in MLB history, behind only:
8/25/1922 Cubs: 25
6/6/1894 Pirates: 24h/t @EliasSports https://t.co/dXNyw7US2W

The Rockies’ only run they scored helped them avoid the worst shutout loss of baseball’s modern era and the largest since 1887, per Langs.
in case you’re getting curious …
largest shutout wins in MLB history:
8/21/1883 Providence Grays: 28-0
6/28/1887 Philadelphia Quakers: 24-0
