Belichick Breaks Beautiful With Girlfriend On Magazine Cover
Over the past few months, you figure Bill Belichick has been at the New England Patriots training facility in his sweat pants and gray hoodie watching game films and talking surreptitiously with Tom Brady about how they’re going to out-scheme everybody and win a sixth Super Bowl together.
You see him in his gray, wet and smelly Patriots cut-off sweatshirt. Earlier that day he had done some hard time on the treadmill. His hair is not well combed. He’s not smiling because he rarely does.
Turns out Bill has been busy doing other things with other people in different places and looking altogether less moody than we have ever seen him. He has been posing for pictures, smiling for the cameras.
There he is, all studly looking, in his blue sports jacket, white collared and pressed shirt, and slick tan pants, holding hands with his girlfriend as they walk along the beach on a sunny day. The first thought that enters your mind is that he’s walking with Julie Andrews up the “hills are alive” of Austria in “The Sound of Music.” The second thought is you can’t believe he’s such a romantic and soft guy.
There is a photo of him sitting on the back tailgate of his car as she leans against him in white pants, a blue blouse, and a tan straw beach hat. It looks as if she’s trying to kiss him while Bill blushes. Bill Belichick blushes. Another shot shows him standing close to her, holding her arm with his left hand that has a Super Bowl Champion ring nearly the size of her bicep.
Coach Belichick and Linda Holliday are the cover story for N (Nantucket) Magazine’s 15th Anniversary issue. The love birds are Nantucket’s favorite couple. They are also among the richest; the coach owns a $4.6 million mansion on the idyllic island getaway.
When you wake up in the morning, there are a few things you don’t expect to see. One is Tiger Woods winning a Major golf tournament. The second is NGSC Sports reviewing N Magazine. The third is Bill Belichick dressed up like an all-in Ivy League frat boy walking around in nature with a woman in a floral dress cozying up to him as he reveals a softer side.
We had this hard-wired image of the coach as an all-time tough leader of hard-driving men who play rough. Now we see he’s a lover boy at heart. Something feels wrong with these pictures.
