WWE Friday Night SmackDown delivered plenty of chaos on November 6, 2026, just one night before Crown Jewel. Kevin Owens and CM Punk headlined the show with a brutal No Holds Barred Match. Meanwhile, Sami Zayn faced questions about his loyalty, and several rivalries reached another boiling point.
WWE taped the episode on November 2 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The company adjusted its schedule ahead of Saturday’s Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Nevertheless, Friday’s broadcast delivered championship drama, personal confrontations, and several important developments.
Sami Zayn Leaves Jimmy Uso Behind
Sami Zayn opened the evening by addressing his upcoming confrontation with Roman Reigns. The Undisputed WWE Champion made it clear that he wanted respect from everyone around him. However, Jimmy Uso interrupted and questioned Zayn’s recent actions against Reigns.
Jimmy reminded Zayn about their complicated history together in The Bloodline. Their friendship once represented one of WWE’s most emotional storylines. Now, their relationship appears increasingly fractured as Zayn prepares for another major confrontation. Zayn defended his actions and explained why he wanted an angry Reigns at Crown Jewel. However, the situation quickly deteriorated when The 946 surrounded Jimmy Uso.
Carmelo Hayes and Cruz Montana attacked Jimmy before Royce Keys joined the assault. Montana delivered Spin The Block, while Keys added a devastating spinebuster. Surprisingly, Zayn watched the attack without offering assistance. The champion eventually walked away, leaving Jimmy to suffer the consequences. That decision raised additional questions about Zayn’s character heading into Crown Jewel.
Shinsuke Nakamura Defeats Tama Tonga
Shinsuke Nakamura and Tama Tonga continued the growing rivalry between Bakusai and The MFTs. Both competitors entered the match with considerable tension surrounding their respective factions. The confrontation quickly turned physical as both men exchanged punches and kicks. Neither superstar appeared interested in slowing the pace or backing away from the fight.
Nakamura eventually secured the pinfall victory over Tonga. The result gave Nakamura an important singles victory during the ongoing faction rivalry. However, the larger conflict remains unresolved. The dispute involving the sacred Tongan Staff continues to fuel tensions between both groups.
Women’s Tag Team Championship Ends in Controversy
Michin and B-Fab defended their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. Both teams entered the contest determined to establish themselves atop the women’s tag team division. However, outside interference prevented the championship match from producing a decisive winner. Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley became involved, resulting in a disqualification.
Consequently, Michin and B-Fab retained their championships despite the controversial finish. The situation became even more interesting when Charlotte Flair and Bayley joined the confrontation. Their appearances suggested WWE could have bigger plans for the women’s division. The developing tensions also raised speculation about a possible Survivor Series WarGames match. However, WWE had not officially confirmed the proposed teams or matchup. Still, the confrontation created additional intrigue surrounding several prominent female superstars.
Finn Bálor Sends Gunther Another Message
Gunther entered SmackDown looking to address his ongoing problems with Finn Bálor. Their rivalry intensified following the return of Bálor’s Demon persona during the previous week’s Halloween episode. This time, Bálor confronted Gunther without the Demon appearance. However, his regular presentation did not make him any less dangerous.
The confrontation quickly escalated into a physical altercation between both competitors. Bálor eventually gained the upper hand and stood tall following their exchange. The segment gave Bálor additional momentum in his rivalry with Gunther. Meanwhile, Gunther must find a way to respond to his increasingly aggressive opponent.
Liv Morgan Confronts Chelsea Green
Chelsea Green also appeared ahead of her Women’s Crown Jewel Championship encounter against Liv Morgan. Green entered the evening looking to reinforce her credibility as WWE Women’s Champion. However, Morgan interrupted and questioned whether Green deserved her championship status. Their exchange highlighted the contrasting personalities heading into Saturday’s showdown.
Green defended her accomplishments and emphasized her determination to prove herself. Meanwhile, Morgan continued challenging the champion’s confidence. The confrontation provided another storyline development before Crown Jewel. Both competitors now enter their championship encounter with plenty of personal motivation.
Damian Priest Dominates Nathan Frazer
Damian Priest continued his aggressive behavior during his singles match against Nathan Frazer. Their confrontation followed Priest’s recent attack on former partner R-Truth. Frazer wanted revenge after Priest’s actions forced Fraxiom to intervene on Truth’s behalf. However, Priest quickly demonstrated why he remains such a dangerous competitor.
The former World Heavyweight Champion overwhelmed Frazer during their brief encounter. Eventually, the referee stopped the match, awarding Priest the victory. The contest lasted approximately two minutes, highlighting Priest’s overwhelming advantage. His performance also reinforced the increasingly ruthless direction of his character. Meanwhile, Frazer’s unsuccessful attempt at revenge leaves additional questions surrounding Priest’s ongoing issues with R-Truth.
Kevin Owens Defeats CM Punk in Brutal Main Event
The evening’s biggest attraction featured Kevin Owens battling CM Punk in a No Holds Barred Match. Their rivalry had intensified after Owens interfered in Punk’s NXT Championship opportunity against Grayson Waller. Both competitors entered the match looking to settle their differences through violence. Consequently, traditional wrestling quickly gave way to a chaotic fight throughout the arena. Owens and Punk used weapons while exchanging punishment inside and outside the ring. Owens struck Punk with a trash can, while Punk placed Owens onto a platform cart.

The action eventually reached the announce table, where both competitors crashed through the furniture. Their willingness to absorb punishment demonstrated the personal nature of their rivalry. However, Owens ultimately found the decisive advantage through another weapon. He wrapped a steel chain around his fist and struck Punk. Owens then secured the pinfall victory, ending their brutal confrontation. The result represented an important victory for Owens in his ongoing rivalry with Punk. Meanwhile, Punk must regroup following another frustrating setback. His recent championship disappointment and defeat against Owens have created significant obstacles for the former world champion.
Crown Jewel Takes Center Stage
Friday’s SmackDown provided WWE with one final opportunity to advance its biggest rivalries before Crown Jewel. Sami Zayn’s decision to abandon Jimmy Uso created additional tension surrounding his upcoming encounter with Roman Reigns. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton prepared for their Last Man Standing Match. Their rivalry promises another physical confrontation during Saturday’s premium live event.
The women’s division also generated significant interest through multiple confrontations and an inconclusive championship defense. Furthermore, Finn Bálor’s confrontation with Gunther added another chapter to their increasingly personal rivalry. However, Kevin Owens and CM Punk delivered the evening’s most violent encounter. Their No Holds Barred Match featured weapons, dangerous collisions, and a decisive finish.
Ultimately, SmackDown accomplished its primary objective before Crown Jewel. The episode advanced several important storylines while giving fans plenty of reasons to anticipate Saturday’s event. Now, WWE turns its attention toward Riyadh, where several major rivalries will reach another critical stage.
