Week 7 of the 2026 NFL season reshaped the league’s landscape in dramatic fashion. Sunday’s slate saw undefeated juggernauts crash back to earth, dramatic overtime victories, historic international milestones, and clutch fourth-quarter comebacks. From Seattle to Atlanta, and East Rutherford to Paris, Week 7 produced unforgettable drama across every window.
Unbeaten Juggernauts Fall: Chiefs and 49ers Suffer First Losses
Entering Sunday as two of the NFL’s last remaining unbeatens, both the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers saw their pristine records vanish in tough road matchups.
- Seahawks Stun Chiefs in Primetime (20–3): In Seattle, the Seahawks held Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City offense without a single touchdown in a dominant 20–3 statement win. Running back Emanuel Wilson anchored Seattle’s ground game with 100 rushing yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, while wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba carved up the Chiefs’ secondary for 150 yards and a score on 9 receptions. Mahomes was constrained to 165 passing yards with an interception as Seattle’s pass rush, spearheaded by Derick Hall’s sack and forced fumble, dictated tempo from start to finish.
- Falcons Turn Over 49ers in Atlanta (29–20): Mercedes-Benz Stadium hosted a thrilling upset as the Atlanta Falcons capitalized on four costly San Francisco turnovers to hand the 49ers a 29–20 defeat. Brock Purdy threw for 288 yards and a touchdown but tossed two interceptions and surrendered two lost fumbles. Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. delivered a poised performance, completing 25 of 34 passes for 213 yards and three touchdowns—connecting with Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Nick Muse. Though Christian McCaffrey rushed for a touchdown and generated 100 total yards, George Kittle’s late fumble in Atlanta territory sealed San Francisco’s fate.
Vikings Stay Perfect as Defense Smothers Colts
While Kansas City and San Francisco stumbled, the Minnesota Vikings kept their perfect campaign alive, moving to 6–0 with a 16–10 defensive triumph over the Indianapolis Colts at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Kyler Murray generated 150 passing yards and a touchdown strike to T.J. Hockenson, adding 39 key yards on the ground. The story of the afternoon was Minnesota’s stifling defense, led by Blake Cashman’s game-breaking 12 tackles, 2 sacks, and 4 pass deflections. The Vikings held Colts quarterback Daniel Jones to just 108 passing yards while sacking him four times, denying Indianapolis a single touchdown in the red zone.
Browns and Watson Direct Another Clutch Comeback
In Nashville, the Cleveland Browns produced another thrilling late-game rally, edging the Tennessee Titans 27–24.
Quarterback Deshaun Watson spearheaded a high-powered air attack, racking up 308 passing yards alongside a rushing touchdown. Dynamic wideout KC Concepcion stretched Tennessee’s secondary for 129 receiving yards on 8 catches, while running back Quinshon Judkins pounded out 96 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Titan running back Tony Pollard posted 129 rushing yards and three touchdowns, but Cameron Ward’s late interception to Denzel Ward halted Tennessee’s drive and set up Andre Szmyt’s game-winning field goal as time expired.
NFC East Shakeup: Giants Upend Texans in Overtime behind JJ McCarthy
The New York Giants made a major statement at Reliant Stadium, taking command of the NFC East narrative with a gritty 27–21 overtime victory against the Houston Texans.
Rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy looked remarkably composed, completing pass after pass under pressure for 252 yards without a turnover. Malik Nabers reeled in 7 catches for 111 yards, while rookie back Cameron Skattebo provided the spark on the ground, rushing for 124 yards and a touchdown.
After C.J. Stroud forced overtime with a late touchdown pass to Xavier Hutchinson, Houston’s opening possession of OT stalled out three-and-out. On the ensuing Giants possession, Jameis Winston plunged across the goal line on a short-yardage keeper to seal the victory.

International History: Steelers Claim 1st Place with Victory in Paris
History was made in Saint-Denis as the Pittsburgh Steelers outlasted the New Orleans Saints 16–10 at the Stade de France in the first NFL regular-season game played in France.
The victory pushed Pittsburgh to 5–2 and sole possession of first place in the AFC North. Aaron Rodgers engineered a surgical offense, completing key throws for 212 yards and a touchdown pass to tight end Darnell Washington. Jaylen Warren established balance by rushing for 101 yards on 18 carries. Linebacker Patrick Queen spearheaded a relentless defensive unit with 10 tackles and a sack, holding Saints quarterback Tyler Shough to 18 yards rushing and sealing the win on a late fourth-down stop.
Dolphins Break Through for First Win
The Miami Dolphins finally snapped their dry spell, earning their first win of the season with a 28–25 road win over division rival New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Miami’s offense executed down the stretch, converting late fourth-quarter third downs to drain the clock and secure the three-point win.
