Sammy Sportface has had to come to terms with the fact that he’ll never be the lead singer of the Fez.
But he’s found a new way to contribute to the band by submitting song lyrics on his Facebook page where Fez members will be able to take these, make a song, and unleash the tune at the Macfest this October when Wake travels to UConn.
“I woke up the other night with these lyrics in my head and had to write them don’t because I felt the Fez needed to see them so they can make a hit song that sells as many copies as Stacey’s Mom,” said Sportface. “Now the onus is on the Fez to make these words into a hit people will be singing years from now.”
Sportface says he’s channeling Bernie Taupin who wrote the words to many Elton John’s songs.
“Bernie wrote Crocodile Rock and all that and Elton made hits. I am confident the Fez can do the same with these lyrics.”
The song is called “People Die.”
Lyrics:
People die.
People cry.
People wanna know why.
People lie.
People get high.
People wanna know why.
What do people want? What do people need?
Is it all about greed?
People don’t know.
People want dough.
People are just for show.
People get low.
People fly.
People die.
People wanna know why.
People don’t know.
People can’t go.
People are so low.
People have their way.
People have their say.
People will have their day.
Somebody’s gonna pay.
People die.
People cry.
People wanna know why.
This people do.
That means you.
This people do.
That means you.
People die.
People cry.
People wanna know why.
People die.
People cry.
People wanna know why.
