I’m so giddy and a proud American now — aren’t you also? — that women on the U.S. Olympic basketball team got their Olympic Gold Medals with a one-point win over France. It’s especially fulfilling that Diana Taurasi won her sixth Gold Medal. What a nice person.
What a ride it has been for this team of lovable and exemplary human beings. What a warm coach.
Deliberately I haven’t seen one second of their Olympic Games because they left Caitlin Clark off the team who deserved to be on it and is a better player than Taurasi and several others on the team. She was mistreated and it was unfair and at least with me, as an American, I don’t root for people who do this.
What a riveting run this team had to the medal in utter obscurity. Too bad almost no one attended their games and no one watched on TV because, well, the coach of the team and players showed themselves to be mean and condescending to Caitlin and have been often unimpressive Americans throughout this process of denigrating and hazing the one person in women’s basketball who has been and will continue to enrich all of them.
The word unappreciative is screaming at all of us. Unappreciative people don’t deserve our attention.
If you couldn’t beat the WNBA All-Star team led by Caitlin Clark, how and why should we be impressed you won a Gold Medal at the Olympics?
Caitlin’s team is more deserving of the Gold Medal than you. This is a Gold Medal worth very little in my mind because of the way you treated a young woman whom many of you are envious of for her talent and appeal, who has never done anything to any of you except enhance your financial situation, quality of life, and future career prospects and income potential.
Give Caitlin all your Gold Medals.
For how you’ve behaved you don’t deserve them.
For how she’s dealt with all of you – with class and respect you don’t deserve – she’s the only one worthy of the honor and recognition.
