We are on the verge of another celebrity golf match. The previous ones have been great if you are a golf fan. Even some sports fans or non-sports fans may also tune in because of who the players are. The one that is happening next week will all come from the NFL. It will the team of Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers vs Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. This is the veterans against the new blood at the quarterback position. Both Brady and Rodgers have played against each other in previous golf matches. They are both sure first-ballot Hall of Famers. As for Mahomes and Allen, they are the new blood and are great for the position. Mahomes already has a Super Bowl ring and Allen could be on the verge of winning one. The previous matches have raised over 33 million dollars for charity.
The match will only be a 12-hole match, not the normal 18-hole match that the previous ones have been. It will take place at the Wynn Las Vegas, the only golf course on the Vegas strip. Brady is 0-2 in his previous golf matches. He has lost to Rodgers and PGA Tour player Bryson DeChambeau in the last one they both played in. Rodgers won the match by sinking a 12-foot putt on the 16th hole. All four players have a handicap better than 10. Brady’s handicap is 8.1, Rodgers is 4.6, Allen is 9.0, and Mahomes is 7.7. If many do not know about the game of golf handicaps are given to every player and it is averaged over the last 10 rounds. Interestingly, the golf course is the only one on the strip which is amazing with how big Las Vegas is.
The trash-talking amongst the four players have already started. Mahomes said they will win because they play the golf course differently than “Old Tom and Old Aaron” will. If you look at the handicaps, Rodgers has the lowest of the four. I think the match will be interesting. I also predict there will be some trash-talking while on the golf course. If you have seen that recently Tom Brady made a hole-in-one video via drone, but many say it is fake. Look for Mahomes and Allen to say something about that. It will be different to see them only play 12 holes. It will start at 6:30 PM EST and will be aired on TNT. I also want to see how Brady and Rodgers will do as teammates being that they have been opponents in the past.
This will be a hard match to predict. I would like to see Brady win since he has not won one yet. I have yet to see Mahomes and Allen play golf. It will be entertaining. To be able to play golf in Las Vegas must be cool. I saw the Good Good Golf on YouTube have epic matches while they were there. It is on my bucket list to play. The matches are hoping to draw the non-golf fans to watch and hopefully donate. Either way, I will be tuning in to watch it next week and give you a review article about it.
