The Dallas Cowboys had one of the most lethal passing attacks in the NFL last season. Both Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup went over 1,100 yards and Randall Cobb, now a member of the Houston Texans, had 828 yards as the third option. In the NFL Draft, the Cowboys upgraded the slot wide receiver position when they selected CeeDee Lamb with the 17th overall pick.
In training camp, Lamb is already impressing with his plethora of skills. Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones recently joined the G-Bag Nation on 105.3 the Fan to talk all things Cowboys and had this to say when asked if Lamb looked like a rookie in practice.
“No. Not at all,” Jones said. “He’s obviously as excited as we all were when he was sitting there and we were able to select him. I think he’s exceeded all expectations. He’s got, I think, rare football IQ. I think it comes natural to him whether it’s his route-running and his feel for the game, whether it’s catching the ball, whether it’s his ability to accelerate after the catch. Everything just seems to click with him, and I know his teammates have certainly enjoyed him. He’s super, super competitive, works super hard. You just can’t say enough nice things about him. We’re so fortunate that he ended up being there for us, and he’s going to make a big, big difference in our offensive football team, and for that matter, even in special teams. It’s not going to surprise me to see him back there potentially helping in the return game as well.”

With his ability to play multiple spots at receiver, exceptional route running, and dynamic skills with the ball in his hands in the open field Lamb makes the Cowboys receiving trio arguably the best in the NFL. Earlier this month, Cooper said he felt the Cowboys could have three 1,000-yard receivers in 2020 and Lamb echoed that statement by saying this:
“I think that’s very realistic,” Lamb told Michael Irvin during an interview on NFL Network. “That’s definitely what we’re pushing for.”

The Dallas Cowboys had the top-ranked offense in the league in 2019. Now, with the addition of Lamb to the Cowboys passing attack causing so many matchup problems for opposing defenses, they have a real shot to be even more explosive in 2020 and get this team back to the playoffs.
