CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College running back AJ Dillon was selected by the Green Bay Packers with the 62nd overall selection in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Dillon’s decorated career included becoming the all-time leading rusher and all-time leader in rushing touchdowns and total touchdowns in Boston College history.

Dillon is the 218th player in Boston College history to be selected in the NFL or AFL Draft. Since 1980, Boston College had at least one player drafted every year except 2005 and 2013.

He is the ninth Boston College player drafted by the Packers since 1967 and the first since B.J. Raji was selected with the ninth overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. The last Boston College running back taken in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft prior to Dillon was first-round pick William Green in the 2002 NFL Draft (Cleveland Browns).

He finished his collegiate career with 4,382 yards rushing, 38 rushing touchdowns along with 236 yards receiving and two receiving touchdowns. His 4,618 all-purpose yards are the most in Boston College history.

For the third straight season, Dillon was named to the All-ACC first-team in 2019. The all-time leading rusher in Boston College history with 4,382 yards, Dillon was sixth nationally in rushing yards (1,685) and rushing yards per game (140.4) in 2019.

Dillon was named an Associated Press All-American (third-team) in 2019.

His 14 career 150-yard rushing games were the most by any ACC player over the last 20 seasons (Lamar Jackson 13, Dalvin Cook 12).

Dillon finished his career 227 yards shy of the ACC record for career rushing yards. He left BC as the ACC’s fourth leading rusher in conference history with 4,382 rushing yards.

His four career 200-yard rushing games rank fourth in ACC history while his 20 career 100-yard rushing games are tied for seventh in ACC history and second in BC history.

The New London, Conn. native was a semifinalist for the Doak Walker and Walter Camp Player of the Year Award in 2019.
