28th Annual Baseball Night in Boston Set for January 16 at Fenway Park

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team has scheduled its 28th Annual Baseball Night in Boston for January 16 from 6-9 p.m. at the State Street Pavilion at Fenway Park. The event serves as the team’s largest fundraiser and will feature World Series champion and member of the Boston Red Sox’ Hall of Fame Kevin Youkilis.

“Baseball Night is pivotal to our program’s operation and directly contributes to every aspect of the program from providing the best student-athlete experience to competing in the toughest conference in the country,” said head coach Mike Gambino, who enters his 10th season at the helm of his alma mater.

Youkilis played 10 years in the Majors, including nine with the Red Sox. He was a three-time American League All-Star (2008, 2009, 2011) and contributed to Boston’s World Series titles in 2004 and 2007. Additionally, Youkilis won the 2007 American League Gold Glove at first base. He was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2018.

“It’s awesome to have a Red Sox Hall of Famer and three-time All-Star come back to Boston and be involved with our program,” added Gambino. “Kevin is best known for how hard he played and how much he cared about winning, which made him a Boston sports icon. It’s an honor to have him at Baseball Night; where he helped bring championship hardware back home to Fenway Park.”

In his career, Youkilis hit .281 with a .861 OPS, 150 home runs, 618 RBI and hit over .300 three times; consecutively from 2008 through 2010. He enjoyed his most productive season in 2008 as he hit .312 with career-highs in home runs (29) and RBI (115) while finishing third in the AL MVP race.

Proceeds from Baseball Night go toward the cost of the team’s early-season trips outside of New England to play out a challenging schedule that covers a national footprint in preparation for ACC competition. Funds raised from the event also contribute to annual operating expenses, including recruiting, equipment and scholarships.

Financial support for the BC baseball program and Baseball Night can be made through the purchase of tickets as well as sponsorship opportunities for the event. Independent financial contributions and auction item donations are also essential to the evening. Donated items such as tickets to sporting or non-sporting events, autographed balls, pictures and jerseys, along with many other items will be auctioned off the night of the event.

Tickets cost $175 until Dec. 21 and increase to $200 on Jan. 1. Supporters purchasing tickets prior to Dec. 21 have the option to add an exclusive Under Armour BC Birdball fleece pullover for $50.

Baseball Night is made possible thanks to the generosity of BC baseball’s supporters. A $5,000 gift includes up to 10 tickets, parking passes and access to the VIP reception with Kevin Youkilis. A $2,500 gift includes up to four tickets as well as a VIP hard hat tour of the Pete Frates Center with personalized hart hat on a date to be determined by the sponsor. A $1,000 gift includes two tickets and an exclusive BC baseball gear package (up to four items).
