BABSON PARK, Mass. – Boston College baseball players Jake Palomaki (Kennesaw, Ga.) and Chris Galland (Sudbury, Mass.) earned All-New England honors as announced by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association on Tuesday morning. The annual NEIBA Division I All-New England Team was voted on by the area’s coaches.
Palomaki, the Eagles’ senior shortstop this season, was named to the All-New England First Team. He hit .315 with 42 runs, 32 RBI, and 13 doubles. Palomaki finished his BC career tied for second in runs (153) and second in stolen bases (60), sixth in on-base percentage (.426), seventh in at-bats (707) and games played (196) and tied for 10th in hits (202). Palomaki is the first player from Boston College to earn All-New England First Team since Chris Shaw (2015).
Galland emerged as the Eagles’ starting left fielder as a rookie. The All-ACC Third Team selection duplicated that feat as an All-New England Third Team honoree. Galland hit .316 and set the BC record for stolen bases in a single season with 28 as he was successful on the first 20 attempts of his career. He scored 36 runs and smacked 10 doubles.
