Zay Jones turned some heads at the all-star game in Mobile, Alabama last week when he ran crisp routes and made spectacular catches. He made two eye-popping touchdown grabs but they were called back due to a penalty and the other to an incorrect call. Jones still finished the game with six receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Overview

A former standout at ECU, Jones is the all-time FBS leader in career receptions (399). His outstanding play throughout the season earned him the status of team captain. He was named to the First Team All-America Athletic Conference and a Fred Biletnikoff Award Finalist.

Analysis

Zay Jones is a complete receiver with and without the ball in his hands. The pristine route runner is capable of moving the chains or stretching the field for a big play. He flashes the intelligence to recognize the defensive coverage and the presence to find the open window in zone coverage and sit there. After the catch, he demonstrates elusiveness and vision to pick up the extra yards. He has the potential to make an impact as soon as he steps on the field at the next level.

Jones recorded 98 receptions, 1,099 yards, and five touchdowns in his junior year. He vastly improved his senior year as he caught a nation-leading 158 passes (ECU, AAC, and FBS record) for 1,746 yards and eight touchdowns.
