The final week of the 2025-2026 NFL regular season has arrived, and while 12 of the 14 playoff spots are already claimed, the drama is at an all-time high. Week 18 features three “Winner-Take-All” division battles and a high-stakes race for the No. 1 seeds in both conferences.
Here are the key games that will define the postseason bracket.
1. The Heavyweights: No. 1 Seed & NFC West
Seattle Seahawks (13–3) vs. San Francisco 49ers (12–4)
Saturday, 8:00 PM ET | ESPN/ABC
This is the crown jewel of the weekend. For the second straight year, the NFC West title and the conference’s No. 1 seed come down to this rivalry.
- The Stakes: The winner secures the first-round bye and home-field advantage through the NFC Championship.
- The Scenario: A Seattle win or tie gives them the top spot. A San Francisco win vaults the 49ers from a potential No. 6 seed all the way to No. 1.
2. Sunday Night Play-In: AFC North
Baltimore Ravens (8–8) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (9–7)
Sunday, 8:20 PM ET | NBC
The NFL’s “schedule-makers’ dream” comes true in the final slot of the season. This is a pure Win-and-In game for the division crown.
- The Stakes: The winner is the AFC North Champion.
- The Cruelty: The loser is likely eliminated from the playoffs entirely. Pittsburgh can clinch with a win or a tie, while the Ravens must win to keep their season alive.
3. The Chaotic Souths
NFC South: A Three-Way Mess
Carolina Panthers (8–8) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7–9) (Saturday, 4:30 PM ET)
New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons (Sunday, 1:00 PM ET)
The NFC South remains the most unpredictable division in football.
- Carolina’s Path: They clinch the division with a win/tie OR an Atlanta win over the Saints.
- Tampa Bay’s Path: They must beat Carolina on Saturday AND hope the Saints beat the Falcons on Sunday.
- Note: If Tampa wins and Atlanta wins, a three-way tie at 8–9 occurs, for which the Panthers currently hold the tiebreaker.
AFC South: Lawrence vs. Stroud
Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (12–4) (Sunday, 1:00 PM ET)
Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans (11–5) (Sunday, 1:00 PM ET)
- Jacksonville: A win over the 3–13 Titans secures the division. If they win and the Broncos and Patriots both lose, Trevor Lawrence could even snatch the AFC’s No. 1 seed.
- Houston: The Texans need to handle the Colts and hope for a massive Titans upset to steal the AFC South crown.
4. The Race for the AFC’s No. 1 Seed
Three teams are still in the hunt for the AFC’s lone bye week:
- Denver Broncos (13–3): Control their own destiny. If they beat the L.A. Chargers (who are resting QB Justin Herbert), the road to Super Bowl LX goes through the Mile High City.
- New England Patriots (13–3): Need a win over the Dolphins and a Broncos loss/tie.
- Jacksonville Jaguars (12–4): Need a win and losses by both Denver and New England.
