There were two big questions as the USF Bulls got ready to kickoff their regular season finale. Why were they wearing all black uniforms with white helmets? The other was this the last game that Alex Golesh would be coaching at USF? No matter what those answers are, it was a cool crisp night in Tampa. The fans for the Bulls flooded the parking lot on senior night. The Bulls before the game celebrated all the seniors with football, band, and the cheerleaders. If USF could win the game it was the first time since 2017 that they would have a nine win season. On the Bulls helmets one side was the horns logo the other was the number. The visiting Rice Owls were in road white tops, silver bottoms, and silver helmets. This game last year ended in an Owls win so the Bulls were out for revenge.

The Owls won the toss and received the ball. The USF Bulls were undefeated at home at 5-0 coming into this game against Rice. The USF offense got on track right away on their first drive, a touchdown pass from Byrum Brown to Keshaun Singleton from five yards out. It put the Bulls up 7-0. The Bulls defense had the Owls running all over the place on their offensive possessions. With just under three minutes left in the first quarter the Bulls had a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second touchdown was a 42 yard pass to Keshaun Singleton again that was his second touchdown of the game. Despite the parking lot being full the crowd was not as full as expected. A third touchdown pass from Bryum Brown thai one to Mudia Reuben for 60 yards. Giving the Bulls a 21-0 lead.

Brown broke his own record throwing 27 touchdown passes this year. The first rushing touchdown came on the next possession on a two yard run by Nykahi Davenport giving the Bulls a 28-0 lead. The Owls only had 129 yards of total offense and the first half ended with the Bulls leading 28-3. USF has dominated opponents in the third quarter since last year this year they own a +107 point differential. The Bulls faked a punt to extend the drive instead of a turnover on downs. Brown threw another touchdown pass bringing his season total to 28 on a seven yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Koger extending the Bulls lead to 35-3. One of the mishaps for USF was when linebacker Jhalyn Shuler committed a targeting penalty that knocked out Rice quarterback Chase Jenkins. The Bulls extended their lead to 38-3 after a 23-yard field goal by Nico Gramatica.
At the end of third quarter the USF Bulls led 38-3 and were on the verge of putting more points on the board. Brown on breaking his touchdown record he also rushed for 1000 yards the 11th time that has happened in program history. After he broke the record he scored another USF touchdown extending USF lead to 45-3. Brown also became the first player since Jayden Daniels in 2023 of the LSU Tigers to have 3000 passing yards and 1000 rushing yards in the same season. Daniels did that when he won the Heisman Trophy in 2023. The first turnover of the game came in the fourth quarter this meant that the only game this season they did not have a turnover was against the Memphis Tigers. Brown was taken out with 11 minutes left in the game. He was replaced by Gaston Moore.
Another touchdown led to another game with the Bulls scoring 50 points this pass came from Moore to Christian Helms giving the Bulls a 52-3 lead. That is where the game would end and that would give an undefeated home record winning all six home games. The next step is the Bulls will play in a bowl game for the third year in a row. There have been rumors that Golesh could be taking another job that came true this morning. Golesh has been reported to have taken the head coaching job for the Auburn Tigers. That means there will be a new coach for the USF Bulls in the bowl game and next year. Many also believe that this is the last game that Bryum Brown could be in a USF uniform.
