It is that time of the year in the game of golf it is the first major of the year in The Masters. It has taken place at Augusta National that was design by one of the best golfers of all time in Bobby Jones. The practice rounds are close to starting but the rain could delay those rounds. The fun all starts on Wednesday with the Par-3 contest where all the pros bring their significant other or children to play with them. There have been many great moments at the Par-3 contest like many holes in ones. With the official golf tournament starting on Thursday morning with Tom Watson, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player start it all off.
On Wednesday night the champions dinner takes place and with Scottie Scheffler picking the menu. This is the second time he won the green jacket. This year’s menu will have for appetizer will be cheeseburger sliders, firecracker shrimp, meatball and ravioli bites. The next course will be Texas-style chili and then the main course will be either cowboy ribeye or blackened redfish. For dessert it will be a warm chocolate chip skillet cookie with vanilla bean ice cream on top. There still has been no merger between the PGA and LIV tours. There will be 12 LIV tour players playing in this year Masters. Those players are Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm, Patrick Reed, Charl Schwartzel, and Bubba Watson who have won in the past. The other five that have not won are Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Tyrell Hatton, Joaquin Niemann and Camron Smith.
Former champion Vijay Singh will not play he has withdrawn with an undisclosed injury. The top five to win The Masters are Scottie Scheffler who is the defending champion, Rory McIlroy who has never win this major and is the only major he has never won. The other three are Collin Morikawa, Bryson DeChambeau, and Jon Rahm. DeChambeau has become one of the most disliked golfers to one that is starting to win. The question is will he win, or Brooks Koepka win since at one time they did not like each other. Whoever the champion will be will once again have to go through Amen Corner. Amen Corner is made up of three holes the Par 4 11th, the Par 3 12th and the Par 5 13th. These three holes could make or break your round no matter which one it is.
Many golf fans say that The Masters is their dream 18 including me. There are some fans that would like to see Scottie Scheffler or a past champion win again. On the other hand, some want to see a new winner and let them dawn the green jacket. It is one of the coolest moments to see when Watson, Nicklaus, and Player get the tournament kicked off. All three of them are past champions in Nicklaus who has the most Masters championships of any player with six wins. Either way when the coverage is on CBS you hear the Masters anthem, and it gives many goosebumps. We will all see how the weather plays out how the tournament goes all starting on Thursday.
