Sports history is loaded with players rocking nicknames that none of us will forget. You know what I’m talking about: guys like Lenny “Nails” Dykstra, Dennis “Oil Can” Boyd, and Rocky “The Italian Stallion” Balboa. Oh and let’s not forget “Meatball Smith,” “Fish McWilliams,” Billy “White Shoes” Johnson, “Shoeless Joe Jackson,” and “Bayou Barbie.”
So it’s important we release the newly assigned nicknames to players on this year’s Wake Forest football team before the first game so we can all memorize them and refer to them by their nicknames when we communicate, however sporadically, throughout the season.
I was going to give a list of all 100-plus players on the roster but felt I needed to respect your time and pared the list down to 27. You’re the first to get this breaking news so treat this information with care.
