Every time I watch Cam Stamina Hildreth play this season, I see a guy who seems to be able to run up and down the court more often than all others on the occur because he has exceptional endurance, enabling him to play up-in-your-grill defense, be forceful and imaginative while driving and spinning and twirling to the basket.
As I soak in Stamina I envision him last summer making up his mind he was going to the most in shape college basketball player. If he’s not, I’d like to know who is because there can’t be many who can out stamina Cam Stamina.
The guy’s motor runs hot – a lot. His rarified physical energy was critical tonight as he drew the assignment to defend Pitt’s Blake Hinson who had scored 41 points last week in Pitt’s game against Louisville.
Not backing down, he harassed and out-hustled everyone on the court and held Hinson to 10 points tonight after the Pitt star scored 41 against Louisville and came in pumping in 19 per game.
Cam Stamina stuffed the stat sheet himself with 13 points, five rebounds and five assists – typical well-rounded outing.
“Cam was outstanding,” said Wake coach Steve Forbes. “He did an unbelievable job against one of the best players in our league.”
The entire team rallied with Stamina to put forth a balanced game with pinpoint passing, constant ball movements. Boopie Miller booped in 18, Hunter Sallas 17, Efton Reid 12, and Andrew Clark 10.
Coming in from the Joel Coliseum Parking Lot, Parking Lot Parker Friedrichsen launched in 3 parking lotters for 9 points.
After the game, which keeps Wake alive for a bid to the March Madness Tournament, Forbes gushed about the consistent sparkling play of his leading scorer Sallas who in high school was a McDonalds All-American.
“I’ve coached some great players in my career but very few like him in terms of talent and the type of person he is. He’s such a great kid.”
So now what I hear you asking?
Duke, Saturday, at the Joel.
Feel energetic. We got Cam Stamina on our team. And a guy who hangs out in the parking lot. And a McDonalds All American. And a guy named Boopie.
Woopie time. Hoopie time.
Dukie time.
