The previous week in MLB was about a team in the American League placing their starting pitcher on the injured list with a forearm injury.
A team will consider trade requests for one of the best players in MLB, and a starting pitcher will be out longer after undergoing an MRI.

Bieber underwent an MRI on his right forearm a couple of days ago, and the team is waiting for the results.
Guardians manager Terry Francona mentioned that Bieber has been dealing with some irritation in his forearm for the last month.
Bieber is having a solid season for the Guardians as he has posted a 3.77 ERA in 117 innings pitched (19 starts) with 95 strikeouts, 33 walks issued, 14 home runs allowed, a 110 ERA+, 4.14 FIP, and 1.24 WHIP.
The right-handed pitcher plays an integral role in their starting rotation.
The Guardians are currently in second place in the American League Central and need Bieber healthy to have a chance of winning the division.
The team hopes Bieber will miss just a few starts and the injury is not too severe.
Los Angeles Angels Considering Trade Requests for Shohei Ohtani
The Los Angeles Angels will consider trading their best player in, Shohei Ohtani, sources told Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
The Angels are amid a nine-game homestand playing the Houston Astros, New York Yankees, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
How they perform after the homestand concludes will determine what path they take regarding Ohtani.
The Angels are five games out of the final playoff spot in the American League and eight games back in the American League West.
Ohtani will likely win the second AL MVP in three years due to a terrific first half of the season.
Ohtani as a hitter has compiled a .302 batting average and 1.047 OPS in 91 games with 65 runs scored, 15 doubles, six triples, 33 home runs, 72 RBIs, 11 stolen bases, and a 180 OPS+.
Then as a pitcher, he has posted a 3.50 ERA in 105 1/3 innings pitched (18 starts) with 139 strikeouts, 46 walks issued, 14 home runs allowed, a 127 ERA+, 3.97 FIP, and a 1.12 WHIP.
The superstar will be a free agent at the end of the season, and if the Angels fall out of contention, it would be logical they consider trading him.
Los Angeles Dodgers Starting Pitcher Clayton Kershaw Out Until August After MRI
The Los Angeles Dodgers will be without starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw for at least a couple more weeks.
Kershaw was placed on the injured list with left shoulder soreness earlier this month, and will be sidelined until the beginning of August, manager Dave Roberts announced several days ago, per Juan Toribio of MLB.com.
#Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the hope is to have Clayton Kershaw back by start of August, but they also don’t want to put a firm timetable for his return.

Kershaw said that doctors recommended he continue to rest after reviewing an MRI he underwent recently, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
Clayton Kershaw said he doesn’t feel any discomfort while he’s throwing; if he hadn’t gotten an MRI, he said, he probably would be back pitching already. But will follow the recommendation of rest. Could throw a bullpen when the club is in Baltimore.

Kershaw mentioned that he feels fine and is not experiencing any discomfort while throwing, says Ardaya.
The shoulder injury to Kershaw has slowed a brilliant 2023 campaign.
He has compiled a 2.55 ERA in 95 1/3 innings pitched (16 starts) with 105 strikeouts, 24 allowed, 12 home runs surrendered, a 173 ERA+, 3.53 FIP, and a 1.04 WHIP.
