BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team lost a slugfest with Wake Forest, 20-8, at the Harrington Athletics Village on Saturday afternoon. The two teams combined to score runs in each half inning, with exception of the third, through to the seventh-inning stretch and did not have a 1-2-3 inning for the duration of the contest.
The Demon Deacons (21-6, 6-5 ACC) jumped on the Eagles (11-16, 1-10) with six runs in the top of the first. Both teams were into the bullpen by the third inning with Wake’s first reliever, Gabe Golob (2-0) grabbing the win.
Brock Wilken hit his third home run of the weekend for the Demon Deacons in a 3-for-5 game with three RBI and three runs scored. Shortstop Michael Turconi drove in six runs and finished 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles.
For BC, graduate left fielder Rafe Chaumette (Sugar Land, Texas) hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first and totaled three RBI in a 2-for-6 effort.
