When it comes to the game of golf we choose a few things like clubs, shoes, and balls. Many will tell you the way to play your best is to get the best equipment. That is far from the truth. I believe that if you start out in the game of golf get the cheapest equipment and if you like the game then improve it. When I started my uncle gave me a bag full of clubs that did not match each other. When it came to balls, he took me to the flea market, and I got the cheapest balls that were available. As I got better and grew a love for the game, I then got better clubs and balls. At that point when a new ball came out, I started to try them all. I am going to give you my three favorite types of golf balls.
Titleist Pro V1
This ball is not only one of the most popular balls on tour but amongst amateur players. This was the one ball that my uncle played. He then gave me a sleeve and said to be careful. Titleist Pro Vs are not cheap golf balls at all. The reason that I love this ball and is the one that I play with the most is the way it performs. I am not saying that every golfer that tees up a Pro V1 is going to have the same results as me. This ball can change your game but do not start with it until your game gets better.
Bridgestone E6
This is ball is one that I picked up recently. In fact, I never had a round with a Bridgestone ball no matter the type. This golf ball is good for no matter what level of a player one is. The reason that I picked it up is that it had the Tampa Bay Lightning logo on them. The round that I had was one of the better ones that I had in a while. I like the way this ball is not as expensive as the Pro V1 but performs like it. This is one that I would recommend to a player that is starting or has a high handicap.
Callaway Chrome Soft Truvis
This ball has one of the coolest designs. At first, I did not like the way the golf ball looked. These look like miniature soccer balls. The ball is like the Pro V1 it performs as one of the top balls used on tour and by amateur players. The color on the ball that made the pattern came in many colors. One that was my favorite was red, white, and blue a USA pattern. The Chrome Soft is like the Pro V1 it can be expensive. This ball would be one that unless you find one stay away from unless you want to spend a lot of money on balls.
In the end, these are three balls that I use. I have been playing golf since I was five which means 33 years. I have played with every level from pro down to a beginner. I am not saying to take anything that I have said above to heart. If a golfer that is starting off wants to play a Pro V1 or a Callaway Chrome Soft go ahead. I just don’t like that the golf world tries to get a starting golfer to buy the most expensive equipment. At the end of the day find a golf ball or balls that you like and make the game fun.
