CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College senior offensive linemen Zion Johnson and Alec Lindstrom were named to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-America team. Johnson was named to the magazine’s All-America first team at offensive guard while Lindstrom was named to the second team at center.
Johnson is coming off a 2020 season in which he was named to the All-ACC third-team at offensive tackle. The Maryland native graded out as BC’s top offensive lineman in 2020 after moving from left guard to left tackle in the preseason. BC’s offensive line ranked No. 21 as a group according to Pro Football Focus last year.
Lindstrom was just the second Boston College center to garner All-ACC first-team honors last season, joining Andy Gallik (2014). He was one of three players to take all 785 offensive snaps in 2020. He was part of a unit that started all 11 games together and held up for the third-ranked passing attack in the ACC at 284.2 yards per game.
Boston College returns 20 starters in 2021, including all five offensive linemen.
The Eagles open the year on Saturday, Sept. 4 at Alumni Stadium vs. Colgate on ACC Network. Season tickets are now on sale via BCEagles.com.
