LOUISVILLE, Ky. – No. 13 Boston College baseball lost to No. 15 Louisville, 5-0, at Jim Patterson Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals claimed the series and improved to 10-4 overall and 3-2 in the ACC, while the Eagles fell to 9-4 and 2-3; dropping back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Louisville used the long ball to beat junior right-hander Emmet Sheehan (Darien, Conn.). Following a pair of first-inning walks, third baseman Alex Binelas hit a three-run home run to right; his first of the season. In the fourth, the Cardinals got a two-out rally going and scored with a two-run home run by second baseman Cooper Bowman.

Sheehan (2-2) was better than his final line indicates; five runs on five hits and three walks in six innings. It was his third six-inning start of the season as he struck out seven batters and retired the last seven batters he faced.

The Louisville starter, righty Glenn Albanese, was lifted after 4.1 innings and 61 pitches. He struck out five, walked one, and gave up just one hit; a two-out single in the first. BC briefly threatened against the bullpen with two walks in the fifth, but the Cardinals escaped with an inning-ending double play.
