Men's #AEHoops Standings Tight at the Top with One Month to Play

BOSTON – The men’s #AEHoops standings are tight as the 2020-21 season enters its final month of the regular season. After a week that saw three more series splits, UMBC and Vermont sit tied atop the league standings at 7-3, followed by Stony Brook at 6-4 and Hartford and UNH both at 7-5.

Over the weekend, the UMBC-NJIT series, the Hartford-Stony Brook set, and the Binghamton-New Hampshire series were all splits. Full Schedule/Results

The conference announced on Jan. 25 a unique format for its conference tournament that will be played over two weeks. Details

This weekend, New Hampshire will host UAlbany, UMBC visits Stony Brook and NJIT visits Binghamton. Any schedule changes will be announced on Twitter @AEHoopsNews.

Here are the week #10 men’s basketball awards for the 2020-21 season:

Player of the Week
Zach Cooks, NJIT – Sr., Guard, Lawrenceville. Ga.

Averaged a league-best 18.0 points last week and added 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in a 1-1 week for NJIT.
Had 15 points and four steals to lead NJIT to a win over UMBC on Saturday.
Scored a game-high 21 points and pulled down six boards on Tuesday.
This is Cooks’ first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.

Rookie of the Week
Blondeau Tchoukuiengo, New Hampshire – R-Fr., Guard, Montreal, Quebec

Averaged 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in a 1-1 week for UNH.
Had 10 points and five rebounds against Binghamton Saturday and nine points and four assists in Sunday’s win over the Bearcats.
This is Tchoukuiengo’s third #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor of the season (11/30, 1/11).
