Are you a degenerate gambler? Perhaps you’re someone who picks games against the spread just for fun and to see how smart you really aren’t? If this describes you, or if you just like to be entertained by a crazy sports columnist, you’re in luck, because you’ve stumbled across Against All Odds: NCAA/NFL Picks, a weekly post from the start of the football season, all the way to the Super Bowl, where me, Mike Drakulich (PSN), the man behind Pittsburgh SportsNation, takes on my father, Michael J. Drakulich (MJD), in picking NCAA and NFL games against the Vegas line! Check out the Draftkings welcome offer to see how you can win big and find many bonuses.

I cover both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers during the season for the fabulous NGSCSports.com!

Normally, we always include the local teams here in Western Pennsylvania, which are Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, and the Pittsburgh Steelers among our weekly picks. This gives me the chance to take shots at the opposing teams I really dislike, enraging certain readers, and adding delight to my busy weekends.

All in all, both my dad and I are pretty good at picking these games, but don’t take our word for it. You’re on your own when you place your bets, so don’t blame us if you lose… but you can share your winnings with us if you wish.

Itchy vs Scratchy. Black Spy vs White Spy. Cheers vs Gary’s Old Towne Tavern. History is full of rivalries, but none are better than father vs son! Who will rise above the other this season and become the 2020-21 Against All Odds Champion?

Against All Odds: NCAA/NFL Picks Week 20

Lines as of 2/4/2021

It all started 20 weeks ago.

A journey, a rather long one, filled with ups and downs… some weeks bringing a swagger, others making you want to pull your hair out.

After all the blood, sweat, and tears, we’re set up for one final showdown, as the winner takes all…

Oh, yeah, then we also have Super Bowl LV!

Wait, you thought I was referring to the “Big Game” as you began reading?

Hell no! We’re talking about father vs son here, as both of us sport identical 88-85 records heading into the 2020-21 season finale of Against All Odds.

It’s a weekly article that we both love competing against each other, but all good things must end, at least for now.

Thank you for stopping by each week, but as Porky Pig says, “That’s all folks!”

See you all for a brand new football season in September!

Sunday, February 7th

Super Bowl LV

#5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (14-5) at #1 Kansas City Chiefs (16-2)

Game Time: 6:30 PM at Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL.

TV: CBS

Vegas Line: Kansas City -3.5

The Pick: PSN: Kansas City | MJD: Tampa Bay

Tom Brady gets an actual home game for his record 10th Super Bowl appearance. After leaving New England where he won six Super Bowl Bowl’s, Brady headed south to Tampa, where he has lead the Buccaneers back to their first Super Bowl since 2002-03.

Tampa will be the first team to host the Super Bowl where they play, but let’s not forget about Super Bowl XIV when the LA Rams got to play in Pasadena against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s not like they travelled for the bloody game.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are seeking back to back championships, and they are fully prepared to take over for New England as the next dynasty in the NFL.

With weapons like WR Tyreek Hill and TE Travis Kelce, it’s hard to bet against the Chiefs, so that is why I will be going with KC to both win and make the cover.

It’s not easy to go against Brady, who seems to have yet another Cinderella Story on hand here with this crazy 2020 season and year.

Honestly, I actually prefer if Tampa does win, as I am getting a bit nauseous about all the slobbering going on about Mahomes and company. There’s no doubt he is great, as are the Chiefs, but eventually, people will figure you out, and suddenly what looked easy to accomplish becomes a distant memory quickly.

Just look at how Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers started out. Big Ben lead his team to the championship three times in his first seven years, winning two Lombardi Trophies. Since then, the Steelers have won just three playoff games in a decade.

Now, just as a reminder, and a warning… you may want to wear a raincoat or put rubber sheets in front of your TV, as Tony Romo will no doubt go into ecstasy over the praise heaped upon Brady and Mahomes pretty much each pass they complete. Romo will be like a dog in a meat packing company, salivating and deciding just what bone (Brady/Mahomes) he’ll want more.

Not to be critical or anything.

I see this being a rather high scoring affair, with the Chiefs having just to much firepower for even the great Tom Brady to overcome.
