Carson Wentz got benched yesterday after not playing very well as quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. It appeared to be a seminal moment in his life when he’s starting to realize that maybe playing pro football is not his true calling.

You see he’s been off his game the best several weeks and years, really, after coming out of college as a much-ballyhooed star and being drafted high.

But he’s reached a career impasse. Everything is falling apart. The career he thought he would excel at is not panning out.

But he’s found something to do in his afterlife, something bigger and more important than tossing a silly pigskin around to fast guys running around, something deeper and beneficial to the human race, something that will solidify his legacy as a bona fide contributor to mankind, something that will one day win him a Nobel Peace Prize.

Wentz has signed up to be an honorary member of the Baby Boomer Brotherhood pioneered by Sammy Sportface. Not only will he join, Wentz will be the national pitchman for TV ads the Brotherhood will be running during the Super Bowl.

The Brotherhood is all about galvanizing, inspiring, and amusing Baby Boomer men. The group, which connects on the Sammy Sportface Facebook Page every day or two, is the fastest-growing entity in the United States dedicated to convincing this group of men than their best days are in front of them and that they will make greater contributions to the world in the future than all of what they’ve given back to society so far in their lives.

“Football is frivolous and I’m so fulfilled to know I will be joining a group that is so focused on giving back to the community and solving the world’s most difficult problems,” said Wentz. “This is a group of men I will be proud to call my brothers.”

Carson Wentz has already signed up for the Baby Boomer Brotherhood Blog Facebook Page and has started reading about Brett Favre’s return to quarterback the Denver Broncos while wearing a turducken helmet.

“That guy Favre is amazing,” said Wentz. “Although I’ll never be the great quarterback he was I know that I will make my greatest contributions in life as a member of the Baby Boomer Brotherhood.”

Wentz will be working with Sammy Sportface on some TV ad spots about the Brotherhood to run during the Super Bowl.

“Our message will be one of unity and respect for all mankind,” said Sportface. “The Baby Boomer Brotherhood stands for justice and peace on Earth. We’ve glad to have Carson on board. We felt it was our duty as a Brotherhood to save a man who was down and out and give him a new cause to believe in.”
