We are now just 17 days away from the University of South Florida Bulls having their first game against the Wisconsin Badgers. This past Saturday was Fan-Fest and the Bulls held a scrimmage. Now the Bulls will have to overcome what happened to them in 2018. They won their first seven games and lost their final six. In those final six, they lost the Gasparilla Bowl to the Marshall Thundering Herd. The bowl game was a Raymond James Stadium.
During this scrimmage, the offense scored six touchdowns. On the other hand, the defense had six turnovers. The Bulls will have to make sure this doesn’t happen consistently during the season. In the first game, they will be facing a great running attack. The Badgers have one of the top running backs in the country. Jonathan Taylor returns to the Badgers and now is looking to help them win the Big 10.
They will have their hands full. They had an issue with that last year. The Bulls were ranked 104th in the nation as far as yards per game. They gave up nearly 450 per game. Head Coach, Charlie Strong, has assured that they are better prepared this year. He said they have turned the page on what happened in 2018. With the new coaching staff, other than the defensive coordinator, he has the Bulls ready to go.
Look for them to be ready to upset the Badgers. This is a trap game for Wisconsin. Coming in, everyone has the Badgers easily defeating the Bulls. I believe the Bulls could win this game. Strong will have these problems that happened during the scrimmage fixed before the 30th. I am looking forward to being in the press box for Bulls football this year.
