Eagles in the NFL: Week 6

Three Boston College defensive backs have been selected in the third round of the NFL Draft in each of the last three years. On Sunday, all three took the field at Mile High in Denver as the Rams pulled out a 23-20 win over the Broncos. John Johnson (2017 – 3rd round, 91st pick) started at strong safety for the Rams, while Justin Simmons (2016 – 3rd, 98th) started at free safety for the Broncos and Isaac Yiadom (2018 – 3rd, 99th) got on to the field in a reserve role for the Denver secondary.

Anthony Castonzo | OL | Indianapolis Colts
After five weeks on the mend from a hamstring injury, Castonzo made his 2018 debut for the Colts on Sunday afternoon. He made his 106th career start at left tackle and was on the field for all 69 offensive snaps in Indianapolis’ 42-34 defeat to the New York Jets.

John Johnson | SS | Los Angeles Rams
Johnson and the Rams remained undefeated at 6-0 with a 23-20 win over the Broncos in Denver. He made four tackles, applied one hit on Case Keenum and also picked off the Bronco QB late in the third quarter in the end zone after Denver drove to the LA 34-yard line.

Luke Kuechly | MLB | Carolina Panthers
The Panthers’ comeback bid at Washington came up short in a 23-17 loss on Sunday. Kuechly made a game-high nine tackles, including eight solos, and two TFLs as he played all 70 defensive snaps.

Harold Landry | DE | Tennessee Titans
The Titans suffered a 21-0 shutout to the Ravens at home this week. Landry came off the bench for 44 (58%) defensive snaps and 15 special teams plays. He made one tackle and was credited with a pass deflection.

Matt Milano | LB | Buffalo Bills
A Texans’ field goal and a touchdown on a pick-six in the final 1:34 turned around a late lead for the Bills in a 20-13 loss in Houston. Milano was second on the Buffalo defense with eight tackles, including two TFLs. He added a pass deflection as he played all 61 defensive snaps.

Kamrin Moore | DB | New York Giants
Moore, a sixth-round pick of the Saints this year, was claimed off waivers by the New York Giants at the beginning of September. After being inactive through the first three weeks of the season he made his NFL debut in week four but was inactive as the Giants faced Philadelphia on Thursday night.

Kevin Pierre-Louis | LB | New York Jets
Pierre-Louis, who was suspended week one, played in each of the last four Jets’ games until this week. He was ruled inactive due to a foot injury sustained in a week five win and did not practice leading up to New York’s game against Indianapolis.

Matt Ryan | QB | Atlanta Falcons
Ryan and the Falcons earned a 34-29 win against the Buccaneers at home on Sunday. Through the air, Ryan was 31-for-41 with 354 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. He threw a 35-yard TD pass to Mohamed Sanu in the first to give Atlanta its first lead of the day as they led the rest of the way. Ryan also threw touchdown strikes to Austin Hooper and Tevin Coleman.

Justin Simmons | FS | Denver Broncos
Simmons contributed four tackles in the Broncos’ three-point loss to the Rams at home. He played all 74 defensive snaps.

John Wetzel | OL | Arizona Cardinals
