Dry Spell in Sports: What Do We Do Now?

With the Winter Olympics over, March Madness a few weeks away, and the NBA Finals between the Cavs and Warriors are not happening until June. What are we sports people supposed to do to fill up our days?

Here are a few ideas:

Wonder about LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Wonder what the real truth is between them, why Kyrie wanted out of Cleveland so bad? Was it LeBron’s ego that he couldn’t stand? Was it the Ohio River? Was it Cleveland in general? Some people have problems with Cleveland.

Ask yourself this question: Is Justin Thomas going to be the best golfer in the world over the next five years? The answer is yes. He won another tournament yesterday giving him seven victories in the past two years. He has won more than 20 percent of the golf tournaments he has participated in over the past few years including the PGA Title. Golf is not about Jordan Spieth nor Rory McIlroy. The new king of the club is Justin Thomas, who was the PGA Player of the Year in 2017. He’s one of those wickedly talented guys who is just better than everyone else. He shot a 61 in a Major golf tournament last year, the lowest score by any golfer ever in a Major tournament. He will win the Masters in April. Count on it.

During this sports dry spell, you should also think about the meaning of life. It’s always tough to cogitate on this one because the answer is elusive and complicated. But contemplate what the meaning of life is these next few days. Might as well; March Madness is several days away. Keeping busy is key. When you figure out what the meaning of life is, write a blog about it and send it to Sammy Sportface for editorial review. If he agrees with your reasoning, Sportface will forward your blog to Ralph Garcia, who will publish your blog under the headline “Blogger Nails the Meaning of Life.”
