Stephanie McMahon Reveals How WWE Scandal Changed Daughter Aurora’s Career Plans
For years, many wrestling fans assumed Aurora Rose Levesque would eventually take a leadership role in WWE. As the oldest daughter of Stephanie McMahon and Paul Levesque, Aurora grew up surrounded by the wrestling business. However, recent comments from Stephanie McMahon revealed that Aurora’s long-held plans changed dramatically following the controversy involving her grandfather, Vince McMahon.
During an appearance on the “What’s Your Story?” podcast, Stephanie discussed how the events surrounding Vince McMahon’s departure affected her family. She explained that Aurora had always envisioned a future inside WWE. In fact, that dream began at a very young age.
According to Stephanie, Aurora showed interest in WWE leadership long before reaching adulthood. When she was only eight years old, she reportedly told her parents that she did not want either of their jobs. Instead, she wanted her grandfather’s position. Aurora specifically expressed interest in overseeing WWE’s creative direction and leading the company.
That goal seemed realistic because Aurora spent much of her childhood around WWE operations. She traveled with her family, attended production meetings, and observed how shows were organized behind the scenes. As a result, she gained firsthand knowledge of the business from an early age.
Aurora also explored the athletic side of professional wrestling. She trained in the ring and worked alongside established WWE performers. Stephanie noted that Aurora possessed natural athletic ability and enjoyed learning the craft. Her exposure to both the business and performance aspects of wrestling appeared to support a future career within the company.
However, circumstances changed significantly when allegations against Vince McMahon became public. The controversy led to major changes within WWE’s leadership structure. Vince McMahon eventually exited the company, while Stephanie McMahon later stepped away from her executive role as co-CEO.
As those changes unfolded, Aurora’s vision for her future also shifted. Stephanie explained that her daughter had always seen a clear path into WWE leadership. Once the family structure inside the company changed, that path no longer appeared as straightforward.
Consequently, Aurora reevaluated her long-term goals. Rather than continuing toward a career in wrestling management, she chose to pursue a different professional direction. Today, Aurora is working toward a doctorate in physical therapy.
The decision represents a significant departure from her earlier ambitions. Nevertheless, it also demonstrates her willingness to adapt when circumstances changed. Instead of remaining focused on a single path, Aurora explored new opportunities and committed herself to a different field.
Despite that change, Stephanie emphasized that the door remains open. She stated that she would fully support any of her daughters if they decided to enter the wrestling industry in the future. While Aurora currently focuses on her education, Stephanie made it clear that wrestling remains part of the family’s history and identity.
Furthermore, Stephanie acknowledged that the transition was not always easy. Aurora spent years believing she would eventually contribute to WWE in a leadership capacity. Therefore, adjusting to a different future required time and perspective.
For wrestling fans, Aurora’s story highlights the personal impact major corporate changes can have on family members. While public attention often focuses on executive decisions and company leadership, those events can also affect career plans behind the scenes.
As WWE continues to evolve under new leadership, Aurora has chosen a different path. Nevertheless, her lifelong connection to professional wrestling remains an important part of her story. Whether she eventually returns to the industry remains unknown. For now, her focus remains on higher education and a future career in physical therapy
