WWE fans already have plenty to discuss after SummerSlam. However, the rumor mill has barely slowed down since August’s two-night event. Several major stories now point toward WrestleMania 43. The event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, WWE continues building several long-term storylines. The biggest rumor involves The Bloodline. According to WrestleVotes Radio, WWE could continue that story through WrestleMania 43. That would give Roman Reigns another major WrestleMania storyline. Zilla Fatu could also become part of that direction. Fatu has strong ties to the Anoa’i family through his father, Umaga. His involvement could add another layer to the Bloodline story. However, one massive question remains unanswered.
Will The Rock return?
The Rock and Roman Reigns Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson remains one of WWE’s biggest potential attractions. Fans have expected a Roman Reigns match for years. Yet Hollywood could complicate those plans. Johnson’s filming schedule could interfere with WrestleMania 43. Reports also suggest money could factor into the decision. Saudi Arabia has spent enormous amounts on major wrestling events. That creates another interesting storyline outside the ring. Dave Meltzer recently discussed concerns within WWE about Saudi Arabia’s spending. WWE will continue working closely with Saudi Arabia despite those questions. Still, fans should treat The Rock rumors carefully. WWE has not officially announced a match between Johnson and Reigns. For now, it remains one of wrestling’s biggest possibilities.
Roman Reigns Has Plenty of Options
Even without The Rock, WWE has several options for Reigns. Earlier reports mentioned Seth Rollins and Oba Femi as potential opponents. One could face Reigns before WrestleMania 43. The other could receive the bigger WrestleMania match. That approach would give WWE plenty of flexibility. It would also help elevate another major star. Oba Femi remains especially interesting. WWE views him as one of its biggest young talents. A major program with Reigns could establish Femi as a true main-event player. However, WWE has not confirmed those plans. Therefore, fans should view the Reigns rumors as possible creative directions.
Kairi Sane’s Next Move
Kairi Sane also remains a major name in the rumor cycle. WWE released Sane following WrestleMania. Since then, reports have linked her with potential opportunities outside WWE. AEW has emerged as one possible destination. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that negotiations involving Sane and AEW remained ongoing. Sane also hired an agent with connections to AEW. However, that does not guarantee an AEW debut. Sane reportedly received offers from multiple wrestling promotions. Therefore, AEW faces competition for her services. Her next move could become one of the biggest wrestling stories this fall.
The New Day and AEW Rumors
Another surprising rumor involves The New Day. Speculation has suggested that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods could eventually appear in AEW. That possibility would create a massive reaction across wrestling. However, fans should not treat the rumor as confirmed. The New Day remains one of WWE’s most recognizable tag teams. Their history includes multiple championship runs and memorable WrestleMania moments. A move to AEW would therefore represent a major career change. At this point, the story remains speculation rather than confirmed news.
CM Punk Rumors Continue
CM Punk also continues generating headlines. Recent social media speculation suggested possible tension between Punk and WWE. However, multiple reports have pushed back against claims of a serious conflict. That distinction matters. Wrestling rumors can spread quickly online. A social media post can create a story before anyone confirms the facts. Punk remains a major WWE attraction. His recent programs have kept him near the top of the card. Therefore, fans should not assume a WWE departure simply because rumors appear online. Recent reporting has specifically questioned claims of a major Punk-WWE conflict.
John Cena and Edge Could Meet Again
Another intriguing rumor involves John Cena and Edge. Both legends built one of WWE’s greatest rivalries during the 2000s. Their rivalry produced numerous championship matches and memorable moments. Now, fans continue discussing one final match. Cena’s WWE retirement tour created plenty of speculation. Edge, meanwhile, remains active with AEW. That makes another WWE match difficult. Still, wrestling has produced stranger surprises. A final Cena-Edge match would generate enormous attention. Yet no official plan currently confirms that matchup.
WrestleMania 43 Already Taking Shape
WrestleMania 43 may remain months away, but WWE already has several potential directions. Roman Reigns could headline the event. The Rock could return. Oba Femi could receive a massive opportunity. Seth Rollins also remains a possible opponent for Reigns. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes remains one of WWE’s biggest stars. CM Punk also remains firmly involved in major storylines. Several potential matches could emerge before the end of 2026. The company still has plenty of time to change direction. That remains important when discussing wrestling rumors. WWE frequently changes creative plans before announcing major matches. Injuries, schedules, contracts and storyline changes can all affect those plans. Therefore, today’s rumor may not become tomorrow’s storyline.
The Bottom Line
WWE’s rumor mill currently centers around several major names. The Bloodline could remain important through WrestleMania 43. The Rock’s availability remains a major question. Roman Reigns also has potential opponents waiting in the wings. Kairi Sane could land in AEW. The New Day’s future also continues generating speculation. Meanwhile, CM Punk remains surrounded by rumors despite reports disputing major backstage conflict. Finally, fans continue hoping for another John Cena and Edge match. For now, none of those stories should receive the “confirmed” label. WWE has plenty of time to change its plans. That uncertainty makes the road to WrestleMania 43 even more interesting. The rumors will keep coming.
