A giddy vibe right now. Everyone can feel it.
Summer’s sizzling. Manhattan made it to 100 degrees.
Take off the clothes. Get comfortable. Cool off.
Slip into a suit. Go for a dip in the pool, or the ocean. Take a cold shower. Let the water run on the back of your neck for 10 straight minutes. It’s allowed.
Momentum ascends. A crescendo will be hit.
Going to the beach next week to see family and friends and type blogs about the beach and the lusciousness of life. At Starbucks on Ocean Highway. Or maybe IHOP.
Will guzzle some Mocha Schmokas. Think, once again, that nothing tastes better, because it’s true.
Go back to the beach house, sit in the AC, watch Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham and Lexi Hull.
Head out for an early cocktail hour. Strut over to the Starboard in Dewey Beach. Order a Scott Van Melt named for the ESPN anchor who goes to Starboard all summer long.
Ask for a virgin pina colada. Suck that down thinking about why coconut and grapefruit blend so exquisitely.
Bolt over to Grottos for five large pies stacked high with sausage and pepperoni. Order five more for next week.
Go back to the house to watch the Indiana Fever get in fights with the other team.
Call Idea Man. Bounce around some blog ideas. Have a laugh.
Call Whit. Tell him Booze Crooze will happen on August 9th. Invitees: Dickie, Rudy, Wolfford, Head, Jacobin, Sportface. Out there in Bermuda Bethany, the island that transports all of us into a Key West mindset.
Summer – we got here.
Life – it is so great.
