CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Morning showers landed the Eagles inside of Fish Field House for day four of Boston College football’s fall camp. BC players were in uppers for the second day in a row as they continued to build toward their first day in full pads, which arrived on Saturday night.

DAY FOUR DETAILS

Date: August 6

Location: Fish Field House

Weather: 69 and rainy

Offensive Highlights: During drill work, Grayson James threaded a ball into a tight window for Ismael Zamor over the middle. Back-to-back connections between James and Dino Tomlin occurred early in team. Thomas Castellanos threw a dart to Jerand Bradley, who was pushed out at the one-yard line, deep down the field. James later found Reed Harris over the top of the secondary for a touchdown. Castellanos found Bradley again, who caught, stopped, and turned past the corner to burst up the sideline. Jacobe Robinson dumped off a screen to freshman Turbo Richard for a 15-yard catch-and-run. Bradley continued to impress with a fierce stiff arm to get around his defender. Lewis Bond, playing without gloves, snagged a contested catch from Castellanos. A few plays later, Castellanos hooked up with running back Datrell Jones, who split two defenders and went the distance.

O-Line U: Drew Kendall, a two-year starter, anchors the offensive line at center and is flanked on the outside by tackles Ozzy Trapilo and Jude Bowry. The Eagles are utilizing a platoon of veteran guards to fill in the rest of the line with Dwayne Allick, Kevin Cline, and Jack Conley, all of whom have starting experience, plus Jack Funke and Otto Hess, who have primarily played on special teams. The o-line made its presence felt during the team period, springing Kye Robichaux for several chunk gains. Robichaux ran between the tackles for a first down with the help of Allick and Hess, and Trapilo followed with a seal on the edge for another long gain.

Defensive Highlights: Cornerback Amari Jackson started the day off with PBU on a deep ball in the end zone in one-on-one coverage. Defensive tackle George Rooks and edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku forced a sack. Rooks and his fellow interior lineman Cam Horsley showed off their abilities as run stuffers up the middle. The Eagles secondary regularly remained in tight coverage, contributing to sacks or short gains on checkdowns. Kahlil Ali knocked a sure completion out of the hands of a tight end down the seam. Ty Clemons and Gilbert Tongrongou teamed up for a sack. Defensive tackle Owen Stoudmire displayed his quickness, being forced to cover a running back and knocking away the pass.
