On this America’s birthday, it’s time to rank order the greatest Americans who have ever lived. There was George Washington, pretty much a bad dude. There was Thomas Jefferson, as smart as Einstein but a better writer. And there still is Bruce Springsteen, who crafted “Thunder Road,” the best song by any American or anyone period.
All major contributors to the tapestry we call America.
But if we’re really being honest with ourselves, the greatest American of all time has got to be the incomparable, the most inspiring human being this country has ever known, Uncle Sammy Sportface.
I know you will think it’s just another stunt to get more followers. But if you really reflect about this with eyes and hearts wide open, who has done more to elevate the spirits of The Most Lost Generation, the Baby Boomer Brotherhood, than Sportface?
When you were down, Sportface lifted you off the couch and you did something. When you were needy, he crafted blogs that convinced you you had purpose beyond reading his awe-inspiring blogs. When you wanted to quit, Sportface told you not to and declared to every one of you your most productive contributions to the world are in front of you – because they are. And you used his inspirational words to accomplish things later in life you never thought you could. You’re eager to contribute more. Momentum is building. Your life is becoming more meaningful.
Name me one other American who has done so much for so many.
Billy Idol? Get serious. Taylor Swift? Be real.
So today on this Fourth of July, let’s salute Uncle Sammy Sportface. So sublime and ahead of his time, a rebel with a cause.
Inside and out Uncle Sammy Sportface is like a baby blue hydrangea flower in full bloom in Rehoboth Beach — exactly like the United Sportface of America.
