CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Boston College football received its complete 2024 schedule from the ACC on Wednesday, which features seven home games and two bye weeks. The BC Eagles open play at Florida State on Labor Day, September 2, for a primetime, Monday night match-up against the defending conference champions.
New season tickets are available now at BCEagles.com, while season ticket renewals will be sent on Jan. 30. Kickoff times and television selections will be made at a later date.
This season marks the second for the ACC without division and the second schedule format in as many years as the league welcomes California and Stanford from the former Pac-12 and SMU from the American Athletic Conference. BC retained Syracuse and Pittsburgh as its annual opponents. Under the new format, each team will face a conference opponent a minimum of twice over the next seven seasons
The Eagles’ home opener will come on a short week against FCS opponent Duquesne (Sept. 7) in a string of four-straight non-conference games. BC then plays back-to-back Power-5 opponents beginning with the return trip of a home-and-home series with Missouri (Sept. 14) of the SEC, which the Eagles defeated at home in overtime back in 2021. A week later, Boston College welcomes Michigan State (Sept. 21) out of the Big Ten before wrapping up non-conference play at home vs. Western Kentucky (Sept. 28).
October begins with a visit to Virginia (Oct. 5) for just the seventh meeting as ACC foes. Following their first bye of the season, the Eagles head to Blacksburg for a Thursday night contest against Virginia Tech (Oct. 17). The month concludes with BC at home on a Friday against Louisville (Oct. 25); the Eagles’ most frequent opponent outside of their two permanent rivals with five match-ups over the next seven years.
The second bye week leads into a home match-up against Syracuse (Nov. 9). A week later, BC makes its second-ever trip to SMU (Nov. 16), where the two sides first met in 1986. That game marked the only contest in the series until the Eagles defeated their future conference opponent at the 2023 Wasabi Fenway Bowl last month.
Boston College returns home for the final two weeks of the season. The Eagles first host North Carolina (Nov. 23), which makes just its third visit to Chestnut Hill for a conference game and, due to the 2020 Covid-impacted season, the first with fans since 2009. BC then closes out the regular season against Pittsburgh (Nov. 30) as the two sides meet in back-to-back seasons for only the second time since reuniting in the ACC.
