Still discombobulated by the wicked Wake Forest football season, unclear why the Great Santino only got to play in one game, despondent and feeling desperate and defeated by the transfer portal, weary from a holiday season packed with lying on the couch and writing down my New Year’s Resolutions, I haven’t been able to muster the energy to watch a Wake Forest basketball game this season.
I saw Boopie Miller drive the lane in the last minute, collapse the defense, then kick the ball to Hoopie Carr on the far left baseline, who drilled the 3-pointer that cemented the team’s eighth straight victory and made the Boston College players feel droopie while Wake is now feeling groovie with 10 wins and 3 losses and now officially the biggest surprise team in Division 1 college basketball with high hopes to make the March Madness Tournament and get to the second weekend.
This after Cam Hoopie Hildreth drove the lane for a Western to Eastern Europe Step lay in. This after the 3-point bomber from Oklahoma-born Parker Friedrickson (sp?) hit a few threes after several months ago winning his scholarship by getting loopie in a high school game scoring 51 points on the night Wake coach Steve Forbes came to see him play.
My friends have been telling me this Wake Forest team is exciting to watch play hoopie led by Boopie. I am now convinced this is the time for all of us to stop fretting about the terrible and tumultuous college football transfer portal and turn our attention to this crop of transfer portal basketball players led by Boopie. It’s high team for Hoopie.
It’s hard not to think that this team’s groupie name should be “Forbes and the 7 Boopie Hoopies” but on this team, there are no Dopies or Sneezies, just hoopies including Boopie.
Whoopie!
