Boston College Inks 12 on National Signing Day

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College head football coach Jeff Hafley announced the addition of his fourth signing class during Wednesday’s early signing period. BC signed 12 future Eagles to national letters of intent.

A junior college transfer from Mt. San Antonio College in California, tight end Ryan Boultwood played in nine games as a freshman for the Mounties. He caught 14 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. Boultwood is rated as the No. 10 JuCo player in California and the No. 4 JuCo tight end in the country by 247 Sports. As a senior at Damien High School, he caught 10 passes for 218 yards and two touchdowns.

Local product, Charlie Comella comes to BC from Xaverian Brothers. A two-sport athlete in football and baseball, he played defensive back for the Hawks. Comella, a three-star recruit and the No. 7 player in Massachusetts by ESPN and Rivals, and Xaverian sat atop the Catholic Conference with a 5-1 mark on the way to an 11-2 season and a Division I State Championship. As a junior, he earned Boston Globe All-Scholastic Honorable Mention. Comella’s father Greg played fullback at Stanford and spent seven years in the NFL.  He also plays baseball at Xaverian.

Three-star linebacker Kemori Dixon is rated as the No. 24 player in Virginia. He played scholastically at George Washington High School; where he played on both sides of the ball as safety/linebacker and wide receiver.

Defensive lineman Jayzen Flint is a three-star prospect and the No. 19 rated recruit from Pennsylvania by On3. He played scholastically at West Catholic Prep in Philadelphia. A 6-foot-2 product, Flint played at defensive end for the Burrs.

An interior offensive lineman, Jadon Lafontant rates as the No. 11 prospect in the state of Connecticut by 247 Sports. A 6-foot-3, three-star recruit, he played at The Brunswick School in Greenwich.

A 6-foot-4 wide receiver, Cedric Lott Jr. is a three-star recruit out of Horn High School in Mesquite, Texas. He caught seven passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns, which was second on the team, as a senior; his first year of varsity football. Lott is also on the Jaguars’ basketball team; earning All-District accolades as well as the 10-6A Defensive Player of the Year.

Three-star cornerback Ashton McShane arrives as BC from McKinney High School in Texas. In 12 games as a senior, he totaled 34 tackles, including 25 solo stops. He picked up two interceptions, 11 pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries. McShane helped the Lions to a 9-3 season and a second-round appearance in the 6A Division 2 Playoffs.

Jonathan Montague Jr. is the quarterback of the class. A 6-foot-2, dual-threat option, he played at Clayton High School in North Carolina. Montague passed for 1,601 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior. On the ground, he rushed for 2,578 and 41 touchdowns as his conference’s player of the year.

Judah Pruitt, a two-way product, signed as a three-start at offensive line. He played right guard and defensive line at Malcolm X Shabazz High School in New Jersey, where he was rated as the No. 26 player in the state by 247 Sports. Pruitt was also named to the Jersey Sports Zone All-Zone Team.

Running back Turbo Richard is a three-star prospect; rated as the No. 10 player in South Carolina by ESPN. In 13 games at Northwestern High School, he rushed for 1,251 yards and 20 touchdowns on 155 carries. Richard helped the Trojans to an 11-2 mark in 2023, including a perfect 5-0 mark in-region, which earned the four-seed in the AAAA playoffs as they reached the quarterfinals.

Pape Sy signed on with BC as a 6-foot-5 offensive lineman from Dakar, Senegal. He played at the NFL Academy in Loughborough, England, where he was the only Senegalese member of the team. The NFL Academy is an elite football development program for student-athletes aged 16-19.

Rounding out the class is Safety Syair Torrence. He is a three-star prospect who rates as the No. 5 recruit from the state of New York by 247 Sports. As a senior, Torrence recorded 74 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, five interceptions and four pass break-ups. He also contributed at running back with 115 yards and a touchdown as a two-time state champion with Christian Brothers Academy. Torrence’s brother Symir played basketball at Syracuse.
