Three major NFL stars who could be traded this offseason

When the NFL gets back in action later this year, the landscape will be significantly different than it was when the regular season ended last month. It will, of course, be a campaign without Tom Brady – and there are players in the league who weren’t even born when he first appeared on a pro roster. It will be a league where the vast majority of the teams come from locations where sports betting is legal, which has already had an impact on things like TV coverage. And there could be more than a couple of big names who are wearing different colors than usual as the merry-go-round of new players and new teams begins.

Free agency is one thing – there are always players who come to the end of one contract and both want to get paid while also finding new surroundings. Many players want to play on a team that visitors to casinoszonder.com might end up betting on for Super Bowl honors. Sometimes teams, also, want to make room on their rosters or stockpile draft capital for a big rebuild, and this is where the big, splashy trade comes in. Below, we look at three players who may form part of showpiece trades when the period for team moves begins in March.

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay to ???

The clock on Rodgers’ career in Wisconsin started ticking down when they drafted Jordan Love in 2021, meaning they had their future passer in place and could let him learn under one of the best QBs of the last several decades. Now the signs are they might want to become a Jordan Love team and move out the veteran to make room for that. The Raiders might be a realistic destination; Derek Carr has been released after a contract dispute so they need a veteran, and it would reunite Rodgers with favored target Davante Adams. A bunch of draft picks making their way in the opposite direction could allow the Pack to build a receiving corps for Love.

Jalen Ramsey – LA Rams to Detroit?

The Rams went from winning Super Bowl LVI to not even making the playoffs in a weak NFC, and that’s all it usually takes to set off the rebuild alarm in an NFL front office. Ramsey has years left as a player but probably won’t want to spend a portion of his prime waiting for his team to become good again. A decent shortcut would be a move to a team already on the way up, a category in which we would find the Lions. A blue-chip cover corner like Ramsey would be a huge step in the right direction for Detroit, and the Rams would suddenly have a lot more cap room and draft capital to assist that rebuild we mentioned.

Lamar Jackson – Baltimore to Atlanta

This is one that would be controversial – Jackson was one of the very few players on the Ravens that looked like a top-class player last season, and fans want to see him re-signed at any cost. His contract is due a renewal, and Jackson is perfectly justifiably looking to get paid. Under normal circumstances, the Ravens would open the checkbook and tie down their #1 asset. But if talks break down, they won’t want to lose him for nothing at the end of the season – trading him to another team of birds would allow the Falcons to pick up a great QB and probably allow the Ravens to use pick #8 to bring in a replacement.
