Are you a degenerate gambler? Perhaps you’re someone who picks games against the spread just for fun and to see how smart you really aren’t? If this describes you, or if you just like to be entertained by a crazy sports columnist, you’re in luck, because you’ve stumbled across Against All Odds: NCAA and NFL Picks, a weekly post from the start of the football season, all the way to the Super Bowl, where me, Mike Drakulich (PSN), the man behind Pittsburgh SportsNation, takes on my father, Michael J. Drakulich (MJD), in picking NCAA and NFL games against the Vegas line! Check out the Draftkings welcome offer to see how you can win big and find many bonuses.

I cover both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers during the season for the fabulous NGSCSports.com!

Normally, we always include the local teams here in Western Pennsylvania, which are Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, and the Pittsburgh Steelers among our weekly picks. This gives me the chance to take shots at the opposing teams I really dislike, enraging certain readers, and adding delight to my busy weekends.

All in all, both my dad and I are pretty good at picking these games, but don’t take our word for it. You’re on your own when you place your bets, so don’t blame us if you lose… but you can share your winnings with us if you wish.

Itchy vs Scratchy. Pepsi vs Coke. Black Spy vs White Spy. Cheers vs Gary’s Old Towne Tavern. History is full of rivalries, but none are better than father vs son! Who will rise above the other this season and become the 2022-23 Against All Odds Champion?

The Drakulich’s are on a hot streak! Both my dad and I posted 8-2 records last week, boosting my overall record to 55-45, still good enough for a two game lead over my dad at 53-47.

Ten games on the docket as usual, with us disagreeing on just two games.

Catch you early next week as we publish our Thanksgiving Edition on Wednesday night!

Week 12

Against All Odds Lines as of 11/17/2022

NCAA

Saturday, November 11th

Duke (7-3) at Pitt (6-4)

Game Time: 12:00 PM at Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA.

Vegas Line: Pitt -7.5

The Pick: PSN: Pitt | MJD: Pitt

Pitt’s defense has come alive and so has the offense. It will be a cold day in Pittsburgh, but the Panthers will keep their fans warm by clubbing the Blue Devils.

#15 Kansas State (7-3) at West Virginia (4-6)

Game Time: 2:00 PM at Mountaineer Field, Morgantown, WV.

Vegas Line: Kansas State -7.5

The Pick: PSN: WVU | MJD: WVU

Kansas State, like Oklahoma, will find Morgantown a very inhospitable place to visit this Saturday. I’m not sure the Hoopies will win this week, but they’ll scare the life out of K-State before this day ends.

#11 Penn State (8-2) at Rutgers (4-6)

Game Time: 3:30 PM at SHI Stadium, Piscataway, NJ.

Vegas Line: Penn State -19.5

The Pick: PSN: Penn State | MJD: Rutgers

Another chump team another large margin of victory for the Nittany Lions.

Miami, FL (5-5) at #9 Clemson (9-1)

Game Time: 3:30 PM at Memorial Stadium, Clemson, SC.

Vegas Line: Clemson -19.5

The Pick: PSN: Clemson | MJD: Clemson

Miami has fallen of the cliff and will probably suffer another beating at the hands of the Tigers who need a big victory to get back into the College Football Playoff talk.

#5 Tennessee (9-1) at South Carolina (6-4)

Game Time: 7:00 PM at Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia, SC.

Vegas Line: Tennessee -20.5

The Pick: PSN: Tennessee | MJD: South Carolina

Tennessee and their high powered offense will be too much for the Gamecocks to handle. Blowout City forthcoming.

NFL

Sunday, November 19th

NY Jets (6-3) at New England (5-4)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA.

Vegas Line: New England -3.5

The Pick: PSN: New England | MJD: New England

The Jets need this one desperately, but they can’t ever seem to find a way to beat the Patriots.

Detroit (3-6) at NY Giants (7-2)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ.

Vegas Line: NY Giants -3.5

The Pick: PSN: NY Giants | MJD: NY Giants

Odd that the 7-2 Giants are such slight favorites, but I’ll go with it.

Carolina (3-7) at Baltimore (6-3)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD.

Vegas Line: Baltimore -12.5

The Pick: PSN: Baltimore | MJD: Baltimore

Baltimore and Lamar Jackson get a good shot to open up their offense vs a poor Carolina team.

Washington (5-5) at Houston (1-7-1)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at NRG Stadium, Houston, TX.

Vegas Line: Washington -3.5

The Pick: PSN: Washington | MJD: Washington

The Commanders are looking pretty good lately and their run game behind Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson should have their way with the Texans.

Cincinnati (5-4) at Pittsburgh (3-6)

Game Time: 4:25 PM at Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA.

Vegas Line: Cincinnati -4.5

The Pick: PSN: Pittsburgh | MJD: Pittsburgh

The Steelers took care of the Bengals in the season opener, and with TJ Watt back, and the offense possibly getting the run game resuscitated, I like Pittsburgh’s chances to not only cover, but win outright. Mike Tomlin has won his has seven games as a home underdog.
