Savannah, GA – Hang on to your hats, baseball fans. The infamous Savannah Bananas are coming to Boston. Just revealed during their draft-like Banana Ball World Tour Livestream on YouTube, the Brockton Rox were one of the teams to win a National bid to host the headline-grabbing Savannah Bananas on August 16th as they play the Party Animals on the Rox home field at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton. Though no stranger to fanfare after their 2022 season boasted a roster with such names as Ortiz, Martinez, Ramirez, and Foulke, it will be the first time hosting The Savannah Bananas for the Brockton Rox, and sure to be a fun-filled and exciting experience for all fans.
For Norm Laviolette, part of new ownership for the Brockton Rox and leader in the Boston entertainment scene, winning the bid to bring The Savannah Bananas to Boston is just part of a bigger vision for the future of the Brockton Rox. Laviolette, who also owns and operates Improv Asylum and Laugh Boston, as well as a number of other comedy, corporate training, and entertainment venues throughout the country, is aiming to bring this fan-first, fun-first style of entertainment baseball to Campanelli Stadium on a regular basis. Laviolette is even eyeballing the creation of an exhibition team to play a few games as early as this upcoming 2023 season for the Brockton Rox.
