NFL: Taking A Look At the 2022-23 Tampa Bay Buccaneers -

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off a not-so-good ending to their 2021 season. They fell in the divisional round to the Los Angeles Rams who would go on to win the Super Bowl. A big question was whether Tom Brady was going to retire which he did for 40 days. They also made a change in the head coaching position. Bruce Arians decided to take a spot in the front office and pick one of his assistants to be the head coach, Todd Bowles. Bowles has been a head coach in the past with the New York Jets. One player that the Buccaneers saw retire and still is as of now is the tight end, Rob Gronkowski. They had Ryan Jensen their center, who may have suffered a torn ACL, in the first few days of training camp.

I am going to give my opinion on how I believe the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will do in the 2022-23 season. This could be the last season we see Tom Brady play in the NFL. The Buccaneers will be part of the first NFL game played in Germany. They will begin the season against the same opponent they did last year, the Dallas Cowboys. I think this is a game that Tampa can win. In week two they will play the New Orleans Saints the only team that Tom Brady and Bucs have not been able to beat during the regular season. With the Saints having a new head coach this could be the year the Buccaneers finally win. In week three they welcome another future Hall of Famer to Raymond James in Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

This game will be a back-and-forth but I think the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can win it. The following week they host the team that they beat in the Super Bowl the Kansas City Chiefs. I think this will be like the Packers game a back-and-forth affair. This game to me could go either way, a win or loss. Tampa will have their second divisional game of the year and the first at home when they face the Atlanta Falcons. This game should be an easy win for the Buccaneers with the Falcons making many changes. After that, they play the first of four games against the AFC North. They will head to Pittsburg to play the Steelers. With the changes at quarterback, this game should also be a win. They will play the second road division game as they travel to Carolina to play the Panthers.

This will be the first time they will see Baker Mayfield since he left the Browns to join the Panthers. He beat out Sam Darnold as the starter for the Panthers. This will also be a win. It will be a short week as they will host the Baltimore Ravens the second AFC North opponent. I can the defense stepping up and keep Lamar Jackson at bay. I can see another win here. The following week they will have a rematch with the Los Angeles Rams who they lost to in the divisional round last year. I can see the same result unless the Buccaneers can stop Cooper Kupp who is the one player that burned them in the 2021-22 season. This may be the first loss of the season. The following week is the Germany game against the Seattle Seahawks.

With Russell Wilson now in Denver, the Seahawks are a different team. To me, this should be an easy win for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The NFL has played in England with many sellouts so I look for the Germany game to be the same. I read an article not too long ago that they were trying to get extra tickets for sale. Without DeShaun Watson because of his eleven-game suspension, Tampa should dispatch Cleveland. This will be the second to last AFC North game on the road. After the Germany game, they will meet up with the Saints for the second time, this time at home. If they do not beat them on the road hopefully it happens this week.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will head to the west coast to play the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers have also had a change at quarterback with Trey Lance as they let Jimmy Garoppolo become a free agent. This game should be interesting, but I see another Buccaneer win. The last AFC North game will be at home as they host the defending AFC Champions Cincinnati Bengals. This game will be tough, and I see this being a loss. The Bengals are a good and tough team. The next game will happen on Christmas night it is a road game against the Arizona Cardinals. This game will be interesting, but I can see the defense stepping up again and keeping Kyler Murray at bay. I can see a holiday win for the Buccaneers. The final home game of the regular season will be against the Carolina Panthers. I can see a win again.

The final game will be on the road against the Atlanta Falcons. I think after this one the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be 6-0 or 5-1 in the NFC South. This division is Tampa’s to lose. Overall this team could finish at 14-3 or 15-2. I know that many experts have them only winning 11 to 12 games. This team has some changes, but they still can win many games and be back in the NFC Championship game or the Super Bowl. Many have the Buffalo Bills coming out of the AFC. We will see if the Buccaneers win the Super Bowl. This would be a great way to finish a career if this is Tom Brady’s last season so he can ride off in the sunset with eight Super Bowl rings.
