Franklin Sports Hits a Homerun with Baseball & Softball Teams For 2022

Stoughton, MA. (February 15, 2022) – Boston College Athletics and Franklin Sports, a leading manufacturer and retailer in the sporting goods industry, are excited to announce a multi-year partnership establishing Franklin Sports as the official batting glove of the BC baseball and softball teams. The deal marks Franklin Sports’ entry into the collegiate market, featuring robust sponsorship assets for the 2022 season complete with on-field advertising, a product testing lab, and joint-charitable initiatives.

Franklin Sports, the Official Batting Glove Partner of Major League Baseball, The Boston Red Sox, and now Boston College, are collaborating to design four sets of custom batting gloves for Boston College baseball and softball student-athletes to complement their new uniforms. Custom wristbands will also be designed for the teams. Both equipment sets will debut during the Eagles’ 2022 spring season.

In addition to providing custom equipment to the baseball and softball teams, Franklin Sports and Boston College are working together on joint advertising opportunities including the changes to the on-deck circles at the Harrington Athletics Village as another element of their partnership.

Under the new partnership, Boston College baseball and softball athletes also gain access to the Franklin Sports Test Lab, providing access to all Franklin Sports baseball or softball products.

Batting gloves for the BC baseball team will feature the script “kALS” in honor of former Eagles captain and ALS champion Pete Frates, whose mission to Strike Out ALS continues after his passing in 2019. A major fundraiser and advocate for a cure, Frates, whose name adorns the Pete Frates Center that BC baseball and softball train in, is best remembered as one of the driving forces behind the monumental Ice Bucket Challenge that brought the fight to end ALS to the forefront in 2014.
