CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College has accepted an invitation to the 2021 Military Bowl presented by Peraton, benefiting the USO. The Eagles square off against East Carolina on Monday, December 27 at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Md. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on ESPN.

“The Military Bowl is a terrific way for our team to cap off the season and it’s always a first-class experience provided by Steve Beck and his staff,” said William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Pat Kraft. “It will be a great homecoming for our players from the DMV and it is home to so many of our BC alums. We look forward to a great bowl trip to Washington, D.C. and playing in Annapolis.”

The Military Bowl will be the first meeting all-time between BC and East Carolina. The Pirates finished the season 7-5 overall and 5-3 in the American Athletic Conference.

Head coach Jeff Hafley guided the Eagles to bowl-eligibility for the second time in two years and BC’s bowl-eligible for the 20th time in the previous 23 seasons.

The Military Bowl marks the 29th bowl appearance in school history. The Eagles are 14-13 all-time in bowl games and BC’s .519 winning percentage in bowl games ranks 39th all-time. BC’s 2018 bowl appearance in the First Responder Bowl was ruled a no-contest after lightning forced the game to be canceled with the Eagles leading 7-0 in the first quarter against No. 23 Boise State.

The Military Bowl is a homecoming for 13 Eagles from Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Associate head coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim is a native of Washington, D.C., and was a former head coach at Friendship Collegiate Academy in Washington, D.C. as well.

BC (6-6) features 12 players that collected All-ACC honors, including first-team selections Alec Lindstrom and Bowie’s Zion Johnson.
