KANSAS CITY- The Denver Broncos face a tough road test against Western Conference foe, the Kansas City Chiefs tomorrow at 8:20 pm eastern time. The playoff atmosphere at the venerable Arrowhead Stadium (GEHA Field) is ready is rock and show the Broncos what the NFL’s second loudest stadium is all about. The Chiefs really need this win in order to place themselves in prime position for a playoff run. The Denver Broncos could spoil the evening as they are back to their winning ways at 6-5. There is no doubt there will be plenty of energy and the fans will be ready to roar in this game. The Broncos players will likely have a hard time hearing each other and their coaches as the fans will make things very difficult. Arrowhead has one of the largest seating capacities in the entire NFL so that will be a factor.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense continues to perform at a high level. The defense hasn’t been consistent and that’s the primary reason for the 7-4 record. However, now the Kansas City defense ranks 10th overall in the NFL statistically according to pro football reference.

The record is far from terrible but the Chiefs fans undoubtedly expected a record like 9-2 at this point. The AFC West is clearly one of the most competitive divisions in the entire NFL and there is no such thing as an automatic lock in this division.

Denver was the forgotten team after a 3-0 start suddenly went downhill including a dismal primetime performance against Cleveland. Ever since then, the Broncos flipped the switch and turned their season around. Playoffs don’t seem like a stretch for this team anymore but the odds are not in their favor yet. A key win here can change the outcome. This is a must-win if the Broncos are to have a chance for the post-season. A heartbreaking loss could jeopardize those odds. Courtland Sutton could have a big game and play a huge role in a potential “upset”. If Denver is to have a great chance of winning this game, Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater needs to play consistently good football. He’s been inconsistent at times but there are games in which he passes for over 200 yards. This needs to be one of those games. He didn’t pass the ball much against the Chargers last week as he passed for 129 yards but had an outstanding rating. He completed 11 out of 18 passes.

Prediction:

Mahomes and receiver Tyreek Hill will prove to be too much for the Broncos defense to handle.

Chiefs 38 Broncos 21
