Final Men's #AEHoops Honors Bestowed with Playoffs Set to Start

BOSTON – The 2020-21 men’s #AEHoops regular season wrapped up on Sunday and the page turns to the 2021 Hercules Tires #AEPlayoffs.

UMBC is the top seed for just the second time in league history after earning a series split with Vermont. The two programs shared the regular-season title, the first time two teams have shared the crown since the 2008-09 campaign.

Elsewhere over the weekend, Binghamton earned its first sweep of the season taking both games from NJIT. Also, UAlbany and Stony Brook split its set while New Hampshire took a single game from UMass Lowell.

Here are the week #13 men’s basketball awards for the 2020-21 season:

Player of the Week
Dan Petcash, Binghamton – So., Guard, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists to lead Binghamton to a sweep of NJIT.
Shot 58 percent from the floor (11-for-19).
This is Petcash’s first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.

Rookie of the Week
Blondeau Tchoukuiegno, New Hampshire – R-Fr., Guard, Montreal, Quebec

Scored a career-high 19 points and added four assists in UNH’s win over UMass Lowell on Saturday.
The win secured the #AEPlayoffs #3 seed for UNH, its best since 1995.
This is Tchoukuiegno’s fourth #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor of the season (11/30, 1/11, 2/2).
